BCN is our go to restaurant for special occasions. Tonight we went for my husbands Birthday. Once again our experience reminded us why we keep coming back. To us, it's not only the delicious food and drinks, but also the service and the experience. The food is always amazing. Delicious and prepared to perfection. Our reservation couldn't be found by the hostess, who claimed the restaurant didn't work with OpenTable and requested to see our email confirmation. Despite showing her the confirmation, we were shocked and disappointed by the experience. We had heard great things about this upscale restaurant, so to be treated as if we were walk-ins was unacceptable. I had made the reservation months in advance due to its popularity. Eventually, a manager begrudgingly seated us and we felt rushed throughout our meal. We even shared our experience with work colleagues at a nearby table, who were just as astonished by the situation.
Made plans weeks ago to try the tasting menu with friends. Upon arrival there was a little confusion about serving the tasting menu due to it being a Saturday night. They did end up serving it to our group. We did the wine pairings with the menu. The food was excellent with a range of appetizers, soup, salad, sea bass, lamb, pork, and dessert. Each course was accompanied by a wine. The wine pairings were just okay. If we did it again, we would probably just select a couple of good bottles of wine. The initial appetizer has a gin pairing which is excellent and beautifully presented.
Our experience at this restaurant was not ideal due to the long wait time of at least 2 hours. However, the chef from Barcelona creates delicious dishes. The separate vegan menu is highly recommended. Some of the food options may not be appealing to vegans, but the salad with beet "ravioli" was exceptional. The white beans with tomatoes and mushrooms were creamy and flavorful, although they could use a little more seasoning. The ginger Gin Tonic was excellent and the restaurant excelled in their G T game.

The restaurant offers a separate vegan menu in addition to their regular menu. There are a variety of vegan starters, salads, soups, and mains to choose from. I decided to order exclusively from the vegan menu and started with the papas bravas and watermelon and greens salad. For my main course, I had the pea and fava fricassee, ratatouille, and basil rice, and finished off with a fruit dessert. The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff were very professional. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
Had high expectations, but two and a half hours for a meal was a bit much. Drinks took 20-25 minutes...too long. Thank goodness I was surrounded by my family so it was an enjoyable time all the same. The octopus was underwhelming, my boy's starter was cold. The poor head waiter had all the upstairs and it showed...painfully slow. Special occasion and left smiling...over tipped but I cannot recommend this place.
This restaurant in Houston has a dedicated vegan menu, making it a great option for a date night. It's rare to find a place that caters to vegans with such delicious food. Many vegan options in Houston are deep-fried or only offer burgers, so it's refreshing to have a more upscale choice. The food and service are excellent, and they also serve great G&Ts!
My wife and I had a fantastic time celebrating our anniversary at this restaurant. The food was excellent and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of "Happy Anniversary" written on our dessert plate. We were even treated to complimentary dessert wine. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Had our 9th anniversary dinner here and I was more than impressed. The food and service here was exceptional. We will definitely be returning for another date night!
