Good old Garden City shopping day, hungry, tired & demotivated. Was planning to pitch a Madmex burrito but can't be bothered waiting in line. After a small stroll toward the cinema, we settled at the Beach House. The two story bar and restaurant is an old establishment is the competitive Garden City dining scene. After reviewing their simple menu, we ordered chicken wings to share, rib fillet steak with garlic prawns & beef ribs.
Chicken wings arrived 5min from ordering. The golden fried wingding comes with ranch dipping sauce and a single celery stick. Wings were freshly fried but dry and lacked seasoning. The dipping sauce complemented the meat well but was nothing special. 2.5/5...
Still sitting here at Beach House, a nice place to have a meal but, how difficult is it to serve a simple bacon and eggs on toast? Bacon and eggs my way implies just that or am I being naive in some way? I dont want the staff play Jedi mind tricks with how the standard way the kitchen serves Bacon and eggs my way will be fine for me, regardless of my request.The restaurant wasnt busy so my meal arrived in reasonable time but was only just warm at best. We came here for my birthday dinner with my parents. My father and I waited whilst the girls ordered the food etc.Not 5min after they returned from ordering our meals were on the table. VERY VERY fast service! I had the salt and pepper squid with chips and a ranch sauce. Squid was perfectly cooked and the chips were fantastic. As far as side salads go the Caesar I got was pretty good.The ordering system seems to be a technology where you order and place the locator on your table, I've read previous reviews where some had issue with this (not knowing the locator was required to be in the centre on the disc of the table) we had no issue with this as we were instructed clearly on what we had to...

I have been going to the Beach House for a few years now and each time, I just don't know what to expect! Sometimes the service is great and then other times it is dissatisfactory. The service is good on average, the coffee is great although one time, I had to wait for 45 mins for my coffee and didn't even receive a sorry for the wait! The food is generally really good although last time, the portion size for the eggs Benedict had shrunk considerably and the wait times are very hit and miss! If you're just after a casual coffee catch up, this is a good choice but definitely not for dates or special occasions as the service is just too inconsistent and unpredictable.
Had Lunch here the other day, I never really thought much of this place before but my friend really wanted to try it out. Ordered some steaks, which weren't really cooked the way we wanted them, the cocktails we ordered did not seem taste the way they should have, ordered two Margaritas... and they tasted weird.. the staff looked bored and there did not seem to be a professional presence. but in saying that, it is still a great place to stop for a quick beer, catch up with friends and the view is quite refreshing. but I won't be coming back.
The steak at lunch time is well valued; but I tried the Nachos at dinner, TERRIBLE, slapped on canned tomato, a micro small dob of mushed up avocado and very over cooked over melted hardly any cheese corn chips; the worst attempt at nachos I have ever seen. Definitely won't be going back there.
Had breakfast here and it was awful. Poached eggs were cold and were so overcooked they were more like hard boiled eggs, meals came out within about 5 minutes of ordering so can only assume the eggs had been precooked and were not made to order. Gross.

Overpriced and small portions will not be returning. You can get a nicer and larger meal elsewhere for the amount you pay here. I would advise to avoid where possible!
