We like to visit this place somewhat regularly when we are in the area. After the last 5 times or so I don’t think we will be back. This last visit, though the last several have been bad- was the last straw. Usually the food is average. It always needs salt and usually I bring it because I don’t see it provided. I rarely if ever salt restaurant food- but this place never properly salts- and no… other flavors do not make up for lack of salt. This time the food was below average. The meatloaf was dry and tasted like it was covered in a gravy bbq sauce mix. The “best” pasta was actually awful. Very sour with no saltiness or sweetness to balance the sour. What tastes good is salty, fatty, sweet...
My grandparents took my family out for my graduation dinner, there was a total of 11 of us and we sat in the dungeon. We had reservations weeks ahead only for us to be seated in some random wood paneled room with fish posters (literally the least of the looks of a dungeon). When the upstairs hostess told us to walk down the stairs, no one greeted us to tell us where we were seated until minutes later. Along with the seating itself they had many open tables in the other rooms and since they had moved our tables together, there was no excuse as to why they couldn’t have sat us in a real dungeon room. We went there to have dinner in the dungeon. They were set up for a party in one room with other tables available. We asked one of the customers if we just set or should we wait and they said to go sit anywhere so we did. A party of 5 came in and the waitresses came and fixed them a table asking them if they had reservations. They responded no and the waitress said let me go get you some menus. Then looked at us and asked if we had a reservation and we responded no. She went to tell us that we didnt need a reservation but it was recommended and that she couldn't seat us. We had our son and daughter-in-laws wedding here. The entire experience was magical! From the moment we saw the place and spoke with the owner it was perfection. Planning with Lynn was amazing, she took away every concern, she was so easy and wonderful to work with. The day before I needed to drop off stuff to set up for the day of, the day of I showed up and it was all in place for us. It was perfect! The staff was amazing, so accommodating and welcoming. Every wish and need was met. The food was OUTSTANDING! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, professional, accommodating place. It truly was such an incredible experience. So so beautiful! The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. And you couldn’t ask to eat in a better venue. The waitress was very nice and funny. If I had to knock a few points of I would say the portions were kind of small, and the food took a long time to come out, about an hour and 15 minutes. But the overall experience overshadowed those small grievances
It was very disappointing, the service was very long and the place smelled of sulfur, especially in the restroom, the water had a sulfur smell as well. you would think with the prices they charge it would have a water filtration system installed, I couldn't imagine having a wedding there to smell rotten eggs through the evening.
Need water filter due to strong sulfur taste and smell! Avoid Gulf shrimp!! 3 out of 4 meals fair. Only 1 meal really good, the duck!! Even restroom had sulfur smell!! Won't go back!!

Fine driving in an old castle/building. Cool English styled bar in the basement. Loved the fireplace and cozy chairs.
