Great pub with a great lively atmosphere. Staff were very nice and accommodating. I decided to have dinner there while having a pit stop from the Xmas shopping. However I was to go back for dinner with my son. They gave me a table, the last one. Then I changed the numbers of dinners to 3 and even though they didn't have a bigger table, they found a way to accommodate us. Finally, I asked if we could turn up 1 hour earlier BC our plans had changed again. Once we turned up for dinner the staff told me that there was a table of 6 becoming available in 5 minutes if we didn't mind waiting. The service was very good, the cost reasonable and the food was very tasty, however the burger was quite dry...
Great to find this hostelry close to where we were staying in Carlisle. Friendly place, welcoming staff and an excellent meal. Serving staff taking the time to ask if everything was OK and if there was anything else needed. Good to see that as it doesn't always happen in other places. Nice open plan bar, clean and tidy. Highly recommended.
Friends and I stopped by this pub for dinner and a drink. We were seated rather quickly and service was good. The food was tasty and they had numerous drink choices. I had the chicken strips and 8 wings; both were considerably better than a lot of bland food I had been experiencing lately at other pubs.

The staff and service at this restaurant are truly outstanding. We booked a post-Christmas break with family and decided to dine here one evening. The staff were exceptional and went out of their way to make our experience unforgettable.
Popped in for a quick meal, the food and service were good, although the tables and chairs could have done with a bit more of a clean and there was quite a bit of old food about.
