Bel And The Dragon Cookham

I love this place. We sat in the bar area where there’s am open fire, perfect for a winter evening dining. I had originally asked for a booth in the rear restaurant area via the top table ‘requests’ but they missed this if you have any special requirements, call them directly. Poached duck egg and avocado starter is a great combination. Our friends shared the camembert starter that came with glazed walnuts and chutney they loved the combination ! One aspect I wish would have been better My cut of rib eye steak was below the standard I expected for the price. Three of us went for the steak and shared the same view. The staff were all exceptional well timed and very friendly.

Although the food taste and quality was to an extremely high standard the staff service was nonexistent, we had to constantly look to call someone, when they eventually came they didn’t really engage or make proper eye contact. We were served by 6 or more different staff at the table in an hour and a half.

Nice place servers are polite, but some untrained table needed much more service and it becomes a bit tired to call people instead of someone with responsibility from your table. Food was nice wine was nice price was ok for what we had.

We had a wonderful family lunch with 8 people, including 4 octogenarians. We were grateful for the private room with sliding doors that helped keep the noise levels down. Our waiter was fantastic and very patient with us. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

Food and ambience was excellent as usual. Service was below the expectations. There was only 2-3 tables occupied and still I had to call the waiters several time to be served.

Beautiful family dinner (8 overall) with 4 octagenaris. The private room with sliding doors that helped with the noise levels. Great patient waiter.
