They had an issue with their seafood order so there was no seafood. Waiter was clueless, never said anything until after 45 minutes of us being there and now starving. So we decided to stay and had to make a dinner out of french fries, caesar salad and rice with mushrooms. No one offered us even a complimentary bottle of water for the inconvenience, let alone a drink. For 2 people with 3 drinks between us, bill still came to $90 each (including tip) and we were both starving and very unsatisfied.
Lack of communication, twenty minutes we waited at the door being ignored by staff. When eventually staff began to notice, offered things and then dissappeared and never came back, staff too busy enjoying themselves on a busy night and ignored our booking. Not good enough, thankfully we ended up going to a great bar down the road where we got exceptional service. Maybe they should pop down to them and learn a thing or two...very disappointed for a first time visitor to new york.
The staff were all super nice and very welcoming, but the service was soooooo slow. It's a busy place so to some degree that's just the nature of things, but the meal took 2 hours, which is a reallllly long time to sit on a stool if all you're really looking for is dinner. I would recommend this place more for people who are more focused on drinking and hanging out for a while versus having dinner.
Been here on a free 1st or 2nd dates and it’s always been fun. Live music is a good touch normally ave a cassy 3 piece as band which is followed by a DJ. Ts very small Tbd be awkward and an inconvenience if anyone got up to dance so just sit tight, eat the tastes food, enjoy the good mix off cocktails and wines and maybe you’ll finish the night the right way! This is my second experience at Leadbelly for drinks and dinner. The ambience and food are wonderful and while the staff is nice enough, service is extremely slow. Perhaps it's that there's only one bartender so the waitstaff is constantly in a holding pattern. Hopefully this changes over time, but I'll likely wait several months before returning.
Spent new years here with a friend, Genesis and the other waitress with the curly hair (sorry forgot the name! were great! Atmosphere of the bar is great and prices are fair. Visiting from Canada but will definitely come back next time I’m in the city.
Really more of a bar with food than a restaurant. The food is generally good, but with such a small menu it can be hard to find what feels like dinner. For eating, I 'd recommend the affiliated ? Fat Radish across the street.
It was a nice experience, we would definitely go again. Only thing we wish we would have known is there isn't really a dinner menu. They have oysters and a few small dishes/apps. Had a great time! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
