A Bit of Nostalgia. Bendale Restaurant, located in the 'Ben-jungle ' in Scarborough, Toronto 's east side of town. It was started by my father, Peter Siskos, around 1959. We ran this as a family until 1978 when he sold it. It is still there and a place I love to stop by when I 'm in 'da hood '.<br/ <br/ <br/ I started working there when I was 6 years old. I remember when I used to wash dishes while standing on a wooden Coke bottle crate. Work continued in the basement where I 'd peel the potatoes for dad 's famous Bendale Fresh Cut fries. The food at this restaurant is delicious and the portion sizes are generous. Bendale's Spanish omelet is amazing and their burgers are also fantastic. The pricing is reasonable and the food is tasty.
