One morning, feeling hungry, I walked in craving a pancake breakfast and placed my order. The restaurant does have a slightly worn-out appearance and could use a bit of care, but the staff is as genuine as they come. From the cook, Julio, to the owner, John, and his son Michael, who helps out, they all contribute to the welcoming atmosphere.
John, who is visually impaired, has a larger-than-life personality. He serves tables and entertains customers with his humor, bringing smiles and laughter both before and after the meals. His blindness doesn’t hold him back at all; he appears to know exactly what’s happening in the restaurant and does so effortlessly and joyfully.

We were a group of 10 in town for work training. We wanted breakfast before heading to the airport. Surprisingly, it was had to find a local spot that opened before 7am. The diner wasn't too busy when we arrived just after 6. The waiter was prompt and took all 10 orders without writing them down! Everything came out perfectly. Not one mistake! The food was delicious with very large portions. Just what we needed for our last meal in NJ. I would definitely eat there again if we are in the area.
I took my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday dinner for the second time, and it was fantastic! The food was amazing, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was delightful. The staff is incredibly kind, and you can really feel their passion for what they do. I can’t wait to go back again and again. This place is truly outstanding!
Bendix is a classic and iconic American Diner with a great food at very affordable prices. They have a full menu and breakfast all day. The lunch meat was fresh, and the sandwich was well built. The staff were very friendly, and the story of the owner is incredible. If you’re in the area stop it is worth while to stop by.

John truly enhanced our dining experience! He was an excellent waiter with a wonderful personality. The food was amazing, and my family and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely return to Bendix on my next visit to the area!
I loved the place, and I travel EVERYWHERE, the night before I went to one of the finest Steak Houses in NYC and I enjoyed coming to BENDIX more!! The waiter/owner is GREAT PERSON.
Good honest service. Food was very American, not Greek style homefries or kosher style. But it did its job.
Old school diner with great food and great prices. John is an amazing guy and an inspiration!!!
