My daughter and I were walking in the moutain surrounding Saas-Fee, when after 1 hour of walk, we discovered this beautiful, amazing, unreal restaurant location !!! A great place to relax after such effort and a nice welcome was offered to us by the local staff. We took ice cream and cold chocolate milk, which was, at that altitude, just tasting delicious. We did not eat there unfortunately, but we visited the restaurant inside and outside, I should say that if the weather is very good, with blue sky and sun, the place is absolutely beautiful ! Without doubt our favorite restaurant on the mountain in Saas Fee. To get there, keep an eye out for the signs on the left hand side of run 11a, and follow the narrow path to the restaurant. There's a great big balcony which allows you to take in the fantastic view of the mountains. The nice thing is that this place is set back from the ski run, so there is a real tranquility to the location. The menu offers a good variety of options, but it's hard to go past the rosti. Served in a hot ceramic pot, straight out of the oven, they taste amazing and provide plenty of energy to fuel you for the rest of the day. Wir haben dieses Restaurant zweimal zum Mittagessen besucht und hatten eindeutig das Gefühl, dass es das beste Ski-Mittagessen in Saas Fee ist. Weiter oben gibt es Spielboden, aber der Service ist durchschnittlich und die Preise astronomisch. GletcherGrotte hingegen ist das einzig Wahre. Tolle Atmosphäre und leckeres Essen ... zu vernünftigen Preisen. Der Service ist gut und man hat das echte Bergambiente. Wir empfehlen die Rösti mit Käse.
Eines unserer liebsten Bergrestaurants im Sommer wie im Winter. Im Sommer ist es ein großartiger Ort, um einen Spaziergang zu machen und etwas zu trinken oder sogar zu Mittag zu essen. Das Essen ist sehr gut und schmeckt frisch. Im Winter ist es eine sehr stimmungsvolle Hütte...mit sonniger Terrasse an schönen Tagen oder einem gemütlichen Innenraum mit Feuer, wenn es trübe ist. Ein Besuch hier macht immer Spaß.

We visited this restaurant for lunch twice, and clearly felt it is the best ski lunch in Saas Fee. Higher up you have Spielboden but service is average and prices astronomical. GletcherGrotte, on the other hand, is the real deal. Great atmosphere and tasty food at reasonable prices. Service is good and you have that genuine mountain ambience. We recommend the rosti with cheese.

One of our favourite mountain restaurants in both summer and winter. In summer its a great place to stop on a walk and have a drink or even lunch - the food is very good and tastes fresh. In winter it is a very atmospheric hut with a sunny terrace on a nice day or a cosy interior with a fire if it's bleak. Always enjoy a visit here.
Small inside but a great terrace outside to enjoy the food, the views and hopefully the sunshine. Very good chicken pita salad and good cakes prepared daily.

That's what friends had told us and we totally agree! We skied right past it the first couple of days. So glad we made it! A must-try.
High quality food at a little mountain restaurant with good and efficient service. Swiss quality at it's best, highly recommended!
