Our experience at the restaurant was quite disappointing. The hostess was rude and inattentive; she seated other customers who arrived after us, even though she wasn't busy. When I asked to speak with the owner or manager, she informed me that they weren't there, which I find hard to believe since she's usually there during my visits. It was particularly frustrating on a Saturday evening. My family and friends have decided that we won't be returning to this restaurant. I will make sure to share our experience with others, especially since we used to bring guests here regularly. The salad and pasta were very tasty and the portion size was generous, especially for the price. My salad was greens, apple slices, cranberries and a mildly oily viniagrette, and the pasta had lots of spaghetti and meat sauce. I prefer a little more seasoning than was included, but I live in a part of the country where extra seasoning is normal. I was very pleased with the meal. I also really liked the coziness of the restaurant. They had outside seating which was very inviting, but I wanted to be inside for the decor and out of the wind. There are many good Italian venues, Bernini's is one of them. I would go back.
Absolutely love Bernini’s! A true neighborhood gem. You can come here casual or make it a date night, it is so nice to know you will enjoy yourself either way. I’ve tried everything on the menu at least twice lol, my in-laws live next door so we have had many a family meal (and drink! here. Their pepperoni pizza hits every time, and I love any and all of their pasta dishes. Lastly, the staff is so friendly they really make coming here an absolute pleasure. Thank you Bernini’s! We love you!
We had a great experience at berninis during a busy Friday night. The place was packed but we got seated in a timely fashion. We started out with some ahi tataki and also tried out the chicken Milanese. The food was so delicious, we will definitely be coming back. Our server Dylan was super helpful, offering us recommendations and checking on us frequently. The atmosphere, service, and food here is top notch so I had to drop a review. Well done guys. The food was fantastic, and the service was outstanding! It really felt like a place where the locals gather. The Caesar salad and Chicken Milanese were both incredible, and the Margherita pizza was the best we've ever tasted. The crème brûlée was exceptional as well! Collin and Giovani provided phenomenal service, making our meal and experience truly enjoyable.
Went for a late lunch we had bread service and mussels, the mussels were outstanding no need for bread unless you like to use it for dipping, the Caesar salad was fresh and crispy and the chicken with white wine sauce and pasta and spinach came out perfect, highly recommend this dish and of course the tiramisu top off the night very good and moist
Overall a good choice for dinner. Would recommend making reservations as we were able to easily get Saturday night reservations the day before. Like the rest of La Jolla give yourself extra time to find parking. There is a lot of free street parking but it could take a while to find an open spot.
