If I could give less than one star for customer service, this place would deserve it. The service is absolutely the worst I've ever encountered. How can a business continue to operate with such poor service being offered to every customer? If you don't enjoy your job, it's time to leave. The food ranks among the worst I've tasted, and this isn't my first experience with them. I didn't want to return, but a friend wanted to try the oxtail. There was hardly any gravy, even after I requested extra. It was mostly bones with very little meat. What a waste of money. I definitely do not recommend this place.
The worst thing about most West Indian restaurants is the customer service. But Berry's has remedied this by having wonderful staff. In fact, even though I live in North Whitby, I drive all the way to the Pickering location because of the service. Chloe is delightful, always greeting you with a warm smile and excellent service. And the food is hands down the best in the GTA. Not overly oily, always fresh, and mostly importantly CONSISTENTLY GOOD. They never disappoint. The fried chicken, j chicken and curried goat is a must have. Berryl's is truly a gem.
To be honest, this place has really declined. I ordered a J Chicken dinner, and it was definitely not worth it. The chicken didn’t even look properly cooked. I'm not sure what kind of J Chicken this is supposed to be. The girl at the front was completely unfriendly and had a bad attitude. I won’t be returning to this restaurant! It was a total waste of money.
We used the online order for a large Mother's Day lunch. A staff member called the next day to confirm special instructions and was super-pleasant to deal with. Our order was ready on time, and the food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the oxtail, j chicken, and whole fish. Thank you for contributing to a memorable meal; the food was excellent!
As for the small oxtail, it felt like a complete rip-off. Her takeout container was only about half the size of mine, so the price didn't match up with the amount of food. To top it off, the coleslaw that came with both meals seemed possibly spoiled. Overall, I would recommend looking elsewhere, as Scotty Bons is a much better option.
I order a lot from this location via Uber and moving forward I am stopping. The meals are over priced (on Uber and inperson) and I find the quality to be consistently going down. Not a fan and would not recommend. And why never enough gravy????!! Food always dry.
Came for lunch. The food was very underwhelming. Chicken dried out, rice was dry. There wasn't enough gravy to compensate for the overall dryness. The coleslaw was decent. Its far to pricey for the quality of food. The young lady at the cash was polite.Food: 2/5
I'm all for a good West Indian take out but this one hit way below the grade. It was not what I expected. The food lacked flavor and presentation. I paid $17 for leg quarter and rice. Very disappointingFood: 1/5
Food is very good. But customer service is not which unfortunately impacted my opinion on this restaurant. Might be back but other good places in the city with good customer service
