Wow, stumbled upon this restaurant completely by accident as we came looking for an organic grocer that had closed. We said to the proprietor that we had never had Ethiopian before and were happy to follow her suggestions. They make their carb with a super food grain called Teff and the food was a revelation. I have never had any other African cuisine but this was delicious. We were a party of 3 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the soup of the day as well as the main. Just that, was almost too much to each. We had Ethiopian sourced organic coffee afterwards and it was sublime. Will definitely take all our friends that have not had Ethiopian before there as something new.
Fantastically good Ethiopian cuisine. The owners are very friendly & engaging. The wait time between ordering & serving is typically 15-30mins..sometimes longer, the couple that run the business do all the work themselves with no extra staff, so sometimes they can get a little overwhelmed by large groups.The food is always to a high standard..its curious that it isn't more popular.
What a find! It is worth travelling 200km to eat at Betty's Cafe! Delicious food, delightful hosts, and incredibly cheap! We had the vegetation combo and tips, at the owner's recommendation. Perfect. With a bread like you've never seen before. This one is definitely on our list of favourite restaurants. Thank you so much for your hospitality and talented cooking. Taste bud heaven☺
Our family have been enjoying this restaurant since it opened. Amazing experience with authentic Ethiopian cuisine. Customer service is exceptional and you are made to feel welcomed and at home. This place is fairly new to Deer Park, food was great, good prices, very friendly service, card payment, but most of all, coffee was very, very good. I ordered a long black and got a doppio sized long black. Order the Tibs, we had lamb (not hot), very tasty.
This is our go-to restaurant for dining out. The food is delicious and bursting with flavor. Betty greets us with a warm smile and truly makes us feel at home. We highly recommend this spot as we always leave satisfied and never feeling hungry.
The food was soooo yummy and generally my kids are fussy but they absolutely loved it. Friendly staff beautiful environment. Definitely coming back here again. Great service
