Only attended by one waitress. Service lacked finesse and attention to details (amuses Bouche served right after we ordered our firs drinks, red wine served in white wine glass). Had duck breast and my wife steak with chips. Although waitress warned than it would be pink, the Duck was almost raw. Beef was well cooked and tasty but served folded into to like like a slab paver de boeuf. Starters was pan-fried foie gras. Taste was ok but portions were minuscule. This restaurant was recommended by a local. It's located off the main square on Rue du College. All the other diners were French speaking which was a good sign for us. We did try to speak French and the waitress immediately asked us if we wanted the English menu. We decided to try out the 3 course menu for 35 Euro. For starters we had scallops (St Jacques style) - my favourite course. We were at "Bienvenue chez nous" with a group of colleagues. In a nutshell this is a great place, good food, good service, nicely decorated in a red old bric wall setting, large old mirrors, cosy. The meals are well served, excellent ingrédients, and tastful préparations. The french fries are hand and home made, and it makes all the difference. Friendly staff and owners top of this prime location. And very reasonably priced for all you get.
We had a lovely evening! Our server was charming and kind, welcoming. The food was great - a good menu with lots of choice and a great selection of local wines and best of all, being close to the border of Belgium, a great choice of artisinal beers. Lovely atmosphere and a real find.

The food was very good and very well presented , very good value for money. The owner pointed to our table and said yours is the small one in the corner, not the best customer service! The waiting staff were very sweet and attentive.
Near the French border to Belgium you can expect the typical Ch'ti cuisine that is quite heavy but in all it's aspects really delicious. A good variety of French vines makes it easy to cope with the portions!
