I am from Southern California. I grew up with Bob 's Big Boy. When I was a child, it was my favorite place to go. My grandson is visiting me and he heard Bob 's Big Boy is in Ohio. Since he is now in Seattle, where there is no In N Out or Bob 's Big Boy, he really wanted to have lunch at Ohio 's restaurant. We found a Big Boy. When we walked in, I wondered where the comic books were (should have realized, if it doesn 't say "Bob 's, there would not be a comic book about him). There were a few people in the restaurant. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and service. The head chef ran that kitchen like Gordon Ramsey and got the food out fast, hot and seasoned just right. The food was absolutely delicious and hot! A quiet place enen thiugh half full of doners and no loud music playing in the background. A historic place 75 yrs I think, right near the canal at Canal and Granger. If you are hunting for the driveway look for the bikeway bridge and the Big Boy statue.
I entered the restaurant and waited at the front desk to pick up my order. After standing there for 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging me, a woman got up from her table to pay her bill. Two minutes later, the staff came over to assist her, but then they immediately walked away from the front counter. I continued to wait for another 10 minutes, and still, no one came over to help me with my order or even say anything.
So they tell you on the phone 10 minutes to pick up your order and then you get there and you'll talk to 3 different people on the status of your order only to find out that it was never even placed and yet I stood in the lobby for 35 minutes and they didn't seem to care!!! my advice Is if they are rude to people paying their wages it's unacceptable...so spend your money elsewhere.

The food is great and reasonably priced. My usual choice is the Big Boy burger. I ordered takeout this time, but the fries were cold when I got home, which meant I had to reheat them, though they were very busy. The staff was friendly and kind.
I was seated quickly, but after that, I waited without any drinks or service. The last straw was when the staff greeted the people who had just arrived. It seems like you have to know someone to get good service here.
We left. It took a while to be seated. Nobody came and took our order. But the worst part was having to hear a game of bingo going on. Kept t announcing the numbers to loud for me to enjoy my meal.
Hash browns were just right, nice and crispy!! I had the Country fried steak was a perfect choice. Also let me the waitress was super polite.

Experience was OK, but I thought the prices were higher than comparable places. No need to hurry back.
Very rare to find theses locations still. Lots of fun. Will be back when in town
