The 12 Euro base price is more than many charge around this city to start with but the kicker is the up sell to the combo meal which makes it $15 Euro if you want a drink to go with. They have a small beer...on the menu 1 Euro but when I tried to order a burger n beer I received a very convoluted explanation that there is an extra 3 euro charge to do that, making the price of a basic burger and small beer $16 euro. The meat patty is good quality but not large, bun is decent quality as well but rest is no different from a cheap burger anywhere. I found the flavor to be about average and would not place it in the gourmet category. There are several establishments in this city in that category...
we were on the way for a trip, but the smell of burgers pulled these two Americans into like a leto. we were incredibly happy with our burgers. my man ate the house speciality that had sun-dried tomatoes and how good it was. I had the kalbburger with a mild blue cheese and caramelized wobble and it was fabulous. we also have a regular order of the pommes and one of their spezialfries. no complaints with one of the two. my only complicity would be that the coke zero I ordered was not cold and when I asked for a cup of ice that was denied. I know that the French do not see any ice cubes as we do Americans, but we also do not expect to get warm soft drinks. we would eat here again!
We ate lunch one day at the place next to Big Fernand and we could smell their fries when delivered to tables near us. We decided lunch at BG was a must do. We were right. Very nice burgers, the best I had in Montpellier. As...for other reviewers who say the prices are too high yes, they are. But all the restaurants in Place Jean Jaures are overpriced. I found the same high prices for burgers at a restaurant on Place du Marche aux Fleurs,which is just around the corner.
40 days in Europe and this was a tremendous revelation. Great American burger standards but improved with a French twist. Superb staff, upbeat location, cafe seating. You will not be disappointed and a fabulous value. Relax with a glass of draft Gallia and let Big...Fernand take care of the rest.

Is it possible to prepare a good burger at a very fast speed (almost like or even faster than McDonald's or Burger King). The answer is... YES!!! But you'll have to travel to Montpellier to see it. Truly, excellent food at an incredibly fast pace!...Well done!
everything was perfect. the bartholomous burger with extra fried wobble tastes like the sky. the fraught herbs of provance are very tasty abd the ketchup was very tomatic and fresh.
We arrived here with 3 hungry children almost by chance but seriously the burgers are super delicious and the fries even better so please stop by Fernand
a nice neighbor and a nice place to have a good burger. fries are also great. I want them to be brave, but not a problem.

It is a really small place in which you can see all the process of your meal. Quick service and delicious burgers.
