This was my first time at Big Herm?s and I will be back whenever I?m craving soul food. They?re one of the few places open on Monday?s which is a nice perk and the food is great for the most part. I ordered the variety basket with mac and cheese,collard greens, and mashed sweet potatoes. Everything was so good I?d taken a couple bites before I remembered to snap a picture. The cornbread was so sweet and buttery and the Mac and cheese was baked really well. The greens were alittle heavy on the vinegar which I don?t mind but if you don?t like vinegar don?t go with these. A coworker told me about this spot and a friend said it was good. Unfortunately, that is not my perception of the food. I had fried chicken, Mac and cheese and green. The green was the best thing. The chicken was crispy and basic, the Mac had no flavor. Someone else got the Buffalo chicken salad and that thing was hands down the best salad I’ve ever had!!! I ended up eating the salad, throwing away the Mac and giving away the chicken! I can’t say I’ll recommend this place right now, but if I want a good salad I know where to go!!
Ordered with my office for lunch today. Everyone else seemed to like theirs but mine was awful. Buffalo chicken sandwich (came as strips on a bun, not a breast which was not my understanding of the meal) and sweet potato fries. The sandwhich was quite salty and both were BONE DRY. The ends of the fries were hard. Seemed like maybe everything was overcooked. The prices were very reasonable so I may muster up the courage to try again someday, maybe not so soon.
First time trying and visiting Richmond and they are absolutely the sweetest, most welcoming loving people I was given free cookies and drinks juuuust for a first time visit. The the warm feeling of genuine care is felt. thank you so much for delicious food and a wonderful experience that made my day that much better. Stay sweet and safe!

This is not the first, fifth or tenth time I?ve ordered from this restaurant. And every time I receive my food it?s perfectly made. My go to meal is the Grilled Shrimp Salad and the Garlic Parmesan Wings. Awesome customer service. Food prepared in 30 minutes or less. Perfect spot to grab comfort food on the go.
I went here on my lunch break. Both the cook and server was nice with taking my order and getting my food out to me quickly. I ordered the catfish sub the bbq wings with Mac n cheese. Will be returning soon and letting others know about this place. It is not a dine in spot only pick up.
I eat here maybe once a week. Occasionally they get my sides incorrect. But everything is great. I suggest the seafood platter with Mac and cheese. Big juicy shrimp and catfish.
I would lie to a used/19+ xx, that 500+ random/homeless/alcoholic men per year makes her more valuable than a pleasant xx, just to get some of the cornbread here.

Soggy catfish and completely inedible. I would suggest poking holes in the box to preserve the food. A waste of money.
Great deep fried turkey for thanksgiving. Made to order for a non dairy diner too. See you for Christmas!
