One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious food at the restaurant. We ended up dining there for all three nights, a rarity for us. The Sea Bass with a tasty sauce and dauphine potatoes was a standout dish, as was the Venison Cottage Pie. My wife enjoyed the Goats Cheese dish and the Chicken Salad, which was so generous in portion size that she couldn't finish it. The starters and desserts were equally impressive. My husband wanted to share his experience of staying at The Bird while working in Witney, and I was thoroughly impressed. Tom, Harriett, and their staff were phenomenal. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect, from greeting us warmly to offering tips on places to visit. The hotel rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, and the food was delicious. The menu was well-curated with plenty of options to choose from, making it difficult to decide. I highly recommend this restaurant. My friends Andy will be calling soon, as they have heard about the amazing food and dedication to excellence here. This place is definitely the best among all the great restaurants in the area. Witney and the surrounding area offer exceptional food and drink options. As someone who travels all over Britain, I can confidently say that nothing compares to the Bird in Hand. Andy has utilized his experience from working in Michelin-starred restaurants to create a true gem. Don't miss out on this place or you'll regret it.

15 of us ate here following a family funeral nearby. The venue could not have been more accommodating despite the short notice (and the fact that they were also running a function at the same time). The welcome was warm, the service great and the food tasty and nicely presented as well as being reasonably priced. There was ample parking and pleasant facilities. All in all, a great place that I highly recommend.
Stayed here for the night after the Cheltenham Gold Cup, What a find. Charming people, fantastic super clean rooms. The best steak and chips I've had for a long time, a wonderful country pub feel, and a first class full English. Will be back.
We had a lovely 2 night stay. Very relaxing and the bedrooms were so cosy and comfortable. We had both evening meals in the restaurant and we were not disappointed. Food arrived hot and well presented. Top praise for the staff.
This beautiful restaurant never fails to deliver a warm welcome followed by large portions of delicious food. The turkey breast, pie and scotch egg are highly recommended. Looking forward to returning soon.

Lovely meal Christmas Eve! Great food. best food in Oxfordshire. Always the best place to go for a special occasion. Good luck during the lockdown, we can’t wait to come back when we can.
