I have been to Bistro '67 many times and have never been disappointed, so this review is very overdue. Every experience I have had at Bistro '67 has been nothing shy of positive, whether I was stopping for a quick lunch alone or with friends, purchasing a burger special or my ultimate favorite: The Chef's Table. During this visit, I specifically requested a table in the restaurant and it was fantastic! The ambiance was lovely, although I wish the kitchen windows were not blocked so we could see the action. The service was friendly and professional, with no complaints at all. The Kabocha salad was one of the best salads I have ever had, with a very generous portion that included delicious feta and flavorful squash. We discovered this restaurant on OpenTable, as we were not familiar with the dining options in the area. We were pleased to find out that it was part of the local college. After some trouble finding the entrance, we were seated by a student who was polite and followed COVID protocols. The service was good, although our server seemed a bit inexperienced. The food was delicious, especially the fresh zucchini and beet salad, which was a bit saltier than I prefer but still tasty. The cherry tomatoes and crumbled goat cheese added a nice touch. First time at Bistro67 Whitby. Very very nice. Love that it is local and most ingredients are grown there or locally obtained. Window seating is very nice. As is table placement in that they aren't wedged clos together. Sometimes restaurants try to squeeze as many people as they can in. This was lovely. Service was really attentive. Menu well explained. The food was really really good. Portions are generous. Our starter was more that enough to share. Very reasonably priced. Only comment would be that the beverage pricing could be a couple dollars cheaper. Other than that we had a reply nice evening and would definitely be back
We celebrated a family birthday at Durham College Bistro '67 - Outstanding!!! The service was great and the food was fantastic! Some of the highlights - the Empanadas were the best I've had outside of Miami's Little Havana, the Shrimp Tacos were so flavorful !! Their in-house Charcuterie platter was on literally on every table in the resturant and it was delicious. The Jerk Burger and the Cheese Ravioli in pesto sauce were also definite favorites. A perfect end to the meal was the Campfire Smor Macaroons and Strawberry Shortcake. From start to finish, it was outstanding and well worth a visit!!! We'll be back!
Our small family decided to dine here for my daughter's college graduation dinner. We arranged for the Chef's Table menu and we are so glad we did! Every course was fabulous! We are a group of non-drinkers and they even accommodated our needs with a special mocktail for each course! It was truly a memorable and delicious meal! A special mention to Chef Raul, our server Nicole, and Kaitlyn for their excellent service and attention! If you are a foodie this event is not to be missed!
Whitby has become a center of several choices to pick from when it comes to good food. We have never tried here and decided to give it a go on Valentines Day. The fixed menu bumped the price choice up a little, but, even still,...the food was great, the service was friendly and responsive. One can tell by the freshness of the food that it is either grown on the campus or bought locally. It is a little pricey but if you go with an open mind and adventurous pallet, it is worth a try.
