This restaurant deserves an 11/10 from me! The decor and music created a great atmosphere while we waited to be seated. Everything on the menu sounded and looked delicious, especially the plates we saw being served. The lobster crepe was even richer than I had anticipated. The watermelon salad was a perfect complement to the lobster before the main course. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. I just left, and I felt compelled to share my experience in a review and tell a friend about it. I can’t wait to return, but next time I think I’ll stick to two courses. The dishes are so well balanced that two courses will leave you satisfied, and we might even share a dessert!
The venue is nice and usually offers good quality food. However, our latest visit fell short of our expectations. For starters, they automatically included a 22% gratuity, which felt a bit excessive and wasn’t appreciated. While tipping 18-20% is common, a 22% tip is unusual in NYC. Also, both the appetizer and entrée we ordered were overly salty. After only a few bites, the saltiness overpowered the flavors, making it difficult to enjoy the dishes. On the plus side, the service was excellent. Nevertheless, given the high gratuity and the disappointing taste of the food, it may be a while before we consider returning—at least until the memory of that saltiness fades.
When it comes to dessert, the classic crème brûlée is a must, along with a variety of chocolate delights and a refreshing fruit medley. This restaurant has truly earned my respect and loyalty. The owners have successfully created an authentic French dining experience right here in northern New Jersey, rivaling the best French restaurants in the city but at much more reasonable prices than the famous spots in Manhattan. They also offer a nice selection of local wines and mocktails. If you're in search of a true French dining experience and a lovely night out, I highly recommend giving this place a try. This restaurant offers an outstanding prix fixe dinner menu that is not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The warm and friendly service, highlighted by a visit from the chef at our table, truly enhances the dining experience. The ambiance is excellent, with lovely decor and a comfortable noise level. You can bring your own wine, but don’t worry if you forget; there is wine available for purchase on-site. This is a fantastic choice for a meal before attending a show at the South Orange Performing Arts Center, which is just a few blocks away.
Everything was delightful and beautifully presented. We opted for the tasting menu for our meal. My mom has been looking forward to dining here for three years, and we finally had the opportunity! The atmosphere was fantastic. As a pescatarian, I was excited to find a wide range of options on the menu. We had dinner, and the cost per person was around $50 to $100. Food: 5/5; Service: 5/5; Atmosphere: 5/5. I highly recommend trying the Lobster Crepe and the Fruit De Mer.
The food was truly exquisite. The lamb shank was tender and skillfully cooked. The grilled octopus was perfectly charred, striking a great balance between chewiness and tenderness. My girlfriend chose the lavender honey roasted duck and gave it a perfect 10/10, which I completely echo. I found my lamb just as delightful. To finish our meal, we treated ourselves to a fantastic chocolate cake for dessert.
We’ve visited this restaurant multiple times and have also enjoyed takeout from here, and we’ve never been disappointed. It’s a favorite spot for our teenager as well.
