The staff at the restaurant were generally nice, except for the head hostess who was rude and condescending. We had made reservations for an early dinner, but when a friend joined us later without a reservation and mentioned she just wanted a quick drink because she had a baby with her, the head hostess responded aggressively, saying that she had to order food if she wanted to stay. This was not a problem, but her tone was unnecessary. When we were seated at another table, she rudely insisted on moving our food but not our plates, showing clear irritation when I said I didn't mind using the same plates. I went here for mtl a table (83$ . While the restaurant is charming and the service was above average, I am not super thrilled with my experience. Most of the cocktails were over 20$, which is puzzling when looking at the ingredient list. The portions were minuscule and my 3 slices of steak were tragically underseasoned (I asked for salt but still the creme caramel, while delicious, would have been better had the caramel not been burnt and the slice of carrot cake we got was comically small. The final slap in the face was the credit card machine having 18% as the first tip option. I came here for a birthday celebration and was unimpressed. First of all, the staff was unkind upon our arrival to the restaurant, the server was annoyed at the 4 times we spoke to him, while simultaneously he spent a majority of the time looking by our table seeming to listen to our conversations. But I digress. The food was decent, but the bread was the highlight of the meal. For such a small menu I had expected higher quality and/or better tasting food. I finally decided to write this review after enjoying countless amazing meals at Franquette. Louie and Renee really know what they're doing and they do it exceptionally well. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere with great music, along with unique and delicious food, Franquette is the place to go. They have a wonderful selection of wines, incredible desserts, and a menu that never disappoints. The service is top-notch and I keep coming back for more. I highly recommend trying the Steak Tartare Club Sandwich, Burrata and Sourdough, Steak Fries, and Chicken Schnitzel. Parking is plentiful with free options available in a nearby garage. Dined for MTL A Table. It is a small place, if you are taller ask for a table with chairs as you will be a lot more comfortable. The two seater booths are made for children. The food is exquisite, the haloumi and sourdough were not to my liking and lacked a punch, but the risotto and creme caramel desert were flawless. There’s no telling how delicious their food is. The mezzaluna dish, a pure delight. We had outstanding service! Came here based on a recommendation by a friend. Did not disappoint! Warm, trendy and inviting atmosphere with impeccable service.
