Es liegen Zeitschriften zum Ansehen herum. Die Küche ist im Gastraum integriert, entsprechend riecht es nach Fritteuse und Gebratenem. Empfehlug: unbedingt draussen sitzen. We stayed in the are for a few weeks, and found ourselves returning to Shannons place every week for lunch. The food is so hearty and good, dessert is always jummy and the wine is great too. Good price too! Think homemade food style with a touch of both American and Norwegian cuisine. Everything is locally produced and in season. We had lam, veal, quail, sausages...JUM! The first strawberries arrived when we were there too, served on top of a lemon cake, it was perfect. It's only four tables inside, so call ahead for lunch to make sure you get a table (it's only open for lunch). We visited Saignon in November, when pretty much everything was closed for lunch. A local lady walking along beckoned us to follow her to her favourite restaurant, and we entered Bistro L'Atelier. We sat at one of four tables and chatted with Shannon, the cook/waitress/genius who served us some wonderful shepherd's pie. My wife had the lamb pie, and I the beef with local mushrooms. Both were fantastic. The atmosphere was beautiful, the poached pears delightful, the wine plentiful and cheap, and the coffee was the best we had in France. One of our best memories of France. Interestingly, the woman who owned the whole building was from our hometown, Calgary!
Un déjeuner dans ce petit restaurant découvert grace à trip advisor et les bons avis...Je recommande sans problème.Une salle au décor arty, on ne s'appelle pas "l'atelier" pour rien.Un accueil que j'adore par la patronne cuisinière épicière serveuse plongeuse et que sais je encore...peu de choix mais des produits frais. Ce midi soupe de poule et petits farcis...On tente....une vraie soupe de poule un régal puis des petits farcis aussi. Une copieuse assiette!Un café moyen (!?)Nous reviendrons et recommandons mais avertirons sur la carte (très) courte.

We found the Bistro L'Atelier in Saignon for a lovely lunch sat outside in the shade. We had the lovely buffet style meal. It's very charming and there's a great spread. Very enjoyable! Fresh vegetables and lots of choice, french hams and cheeses, fish, tomato salads, aioli, potato salad, courgettes and some more exotic dishes too, it was a delight! Good homemade food. Excellent!
what a great place, simple but good! all done by Shannon who is a very good chef! every day another menu and in summer a buffet with all home made things....and, not to forget , home made cakes...we are looking forward to come back soon...

I had read that many chefs were opening bistros and cafes to complement their high end counterparts, this was one example I had read about.
This place is EXCELLENT! We read about it in our Rick Steve's book.
