Yes, Probably the Best world Greek restaurant is in...Paris. I discovered Mr. Mavrommatis in a tiny store more years ago, just when he started. To mix Greek cuisine with French style makes...the best Greek in the world. You are at Trocadero, you go up...by Avenue Paul Doumer and you discover last Mr. Mavrommatis venture; his Passy Bistro. Passy is a very quiet and upscale part of Paris. In this Passy Bistro, you can talk in loud voice, tasting ans outstanding meal for a very affordable price. You have a mezede assortment which is very greek and French done. Small delicious dishes. Then we got a swordfish carpaccio, and different kind of lamb tasty and perfectly cooked. Roasted lamb, stuffed...
we were strangely a little burned on the fine French kitchen of paris, and found this little jewel. they had no English version of the menu so that the manager came and literally read the entire menu to us. the food was fresh, rich, delicious and beautiful. I know that I am going to paris as a tourist and looking for great Mediterranean foods, is not really a more common step, but that is not far from the eiffel tower, and it really felt like a great foundation. excellent service and eating.
haben einen Tisch für den Weihnachtsabend vor der Gabel reserviert. wurde sofort bestätigt. Heute Tage vor Weihnachten wurde die Reservierung ohne Start-up storniert. Ein Tag später bot uns die Richtung Alternatiw einen Tisch im Star-Restaurant an. aber weil wir auf der Grundlage der kurzen Zeit ein anderes Restaurant gebucht haben, haben wir es abgelehnt. dann haben wir dem Hotel einen Geschenkkorb als Entschuldigung geliefert.

I had a great taramas and a beautiful beef steifado, with a glass of Greek white wine. everything was prepared. the atmosphere was calm, with some Greek music in the background. the workers had to update their grieche a bit, as I heard a customer who asked what mousakas was and the waitress could not answer. beautiful bistro with an authentic, chilled atmosphere. as Greek zypriot I can confirm that eating is authentic and tasty. the service was fantastic and the decor is well thought out, adding the total experience.
It is a wonderful place. We had to wait almost 45 minutes between appetiser and main dish. that was the only drawback. Otherwise, very friendly and accommodating.
