Find this local gem while we were visiting our kids. A storefront restaurant serving European food. Just wanted a little bit since we flew in and had a late lunch. I tried the Grilled Octopus, Garlic /Oil and Escarole and Fried Calamari with Tomato Sauce. Both very good. My wife ordered the Butternut Squash Soup and the Eggplant Rollatini. She thought the soup was on the light side. Miguel , the owner who comes from Portugal's Madeira Islands is consistently over seeing the dining room and talking with diners. Even plays the ukulele. Both very good food and service.
Lobster Bisque soup was good. Grilled octopus appetizer was good. Beet salad was good. Lemon Drop Martini was meh. Braised rabbit was disgusting. I would come back if I were in the area, but I would try another drink and never order the rabbit again. And I recommend that others do the same. It wasn't my first time I tried rabbits. I had no rabbit very often, maybe 1 or 2 times before. My previous experiences were good from what I remember. The rabbit here was greasy, knuckle, crisp, mushrooms excessively buttery, and the herbal side boring.
Bistro 12 is one of the best restaurants in Westchester! The food is authentic, fresh and delicious! The ambience is warm and welcoming? As an additional bonus, the art shown is also phenomenal! Well done to Miguel and Manuel for this amazing jewel. Five stars are not enough! Not on foot, RUN to this place!!!
Amazing experience. The pasta with seafood was flavorful and filled with delicious large chunks of seafood. Miguel is also a talented artist. His paintings adorn the dining room. He sang us an anniversary song. The whole experience was charming and memorable.
