The restaurant was tipped as one of the best in the village but in reality, like most hotels, this was the only restaurant in the hotel L'avenue Lodge which served both the half board guests and any outside eaters. The food looked size but was...very basic. My boyfriend ordered the green salad and was served a bowl of rocket with grated parmesan for Unfortunately most places in Val are overpriced for the quality and service they deliver, this was the same.
This is a chic, yet understated restaurant on the main road of the little town. On the expensive side, but the portions are extremely large-make sure you have built up an appetite before visiting. We had the lentil salad (shared between the two of us)...followed by the mushroom risotto with chicken which could easily satisfy two people! Together with the dish of the day-no space for desert, just for the little biscuits offered by the restaurant!
This was my best meal of the week. The dining room and bar are very trendy and feel more like a city restaurant than a mountain restaurant. I understand this may not be what you want in Val D'isere, but when you look at the...restaurants they all have the same menu. We were craving something different and a bit less calorific. Great service and beautifully cooked food. Fabulous!
My partner and I decided to eat out one evening rather than at our hotel and we were not disappointed... portions were very good and considering prices around town it was very reasonable... we both had the smoked duck salad and a special which were...yummy... staff were all friendly and helpful and I would certainly recommend a visit. We booked this for NYE and were not disappointed. We had drinks in the bar first excellent cocktails although not cheap! Fantastic menu with some of the best French food we have had here and lovely wines. Good service throughout. Not a cheap night...out but for a celebration or special evening well worth it.
as much the bar as the restaurant is cruelly lacking in personal touch you have the impression of being in a hotel chain, cold decorations and dishes without great research I will go even until say that the bar is nicer than the restaurantle bar has a relatively well-developed cocktail card
Dined here while staying at the hotel: the restaurant is quite small (compared to the huge bar area) but well worth a visit. I always give points for place that go beyond standard local fare, and was not disappointed here. Enjoyed tarte d'hiver and cod,...both well executed and delicious.
Reserve before hand, but the food is excellent and the service. They gave me excellent advice on the food and wine, and i enjoyed the meal there. I hadn't reserved at the time but they were kind enough to give me a spot for dinner. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
We just walked in a few evenings ago, and we're not disappointed. Good food, great service and gracious extras such as complimentary crostini and friadese. Recommended.
