Fabulous friendly pub in the heart of Lindley, 3 4 miles from the centre of Huddersfield. We’ve visited twice in the last few weeks both times the food and service has been exceptional. The chicken Katsu curry is delicious my husband enjoyed this on both occasions. I’ve had the tasty hunter’s chicken today the lasagna. Both meals excellent value, on the 2 for £14.99 a great saving. We were wonderfully served today by Danny, Josh, Kyle and Lewis thanks for making the visit fuss free. We’ll certainly visit again soon. We can all highly recommend the Black Bull
Called in at tea time for something to eat as we were passing. We seated ourselves in a quiet corner as the bar was busy we ordered food through the app. Unfortunately when the food arrived, it was very poor! The ‘award winning’ pie was over cooked with dry pastry chewy beef, the ‘buttery’ mash tasted like smash it came with peas instead of the advertised broccoli, had i of known i’d of asked for an alternative. I guess this is the issue with not ordering via person, but with a busy bar we opted for the easy option. Lesson learnt!
Our visit was marred by rowdy patrons celebrating a birthday, with some using colorful language. Unfortunately, the staff did not address the noise level. The limited selection of real ale meant I had to settle for lager. Our previous experiences at the restaurant were better, but it seems that management may have changed since then.
In conclusion, you get what you pay for and it's important to inquire about menu availability before ordering. We may consider visiting again, but perhaps for lunch.
I have been coming to this restaurant for family meals for a few years and have usually been very happy with my experience. However, today was disappointing. The seating was ripped and there were liquid spills all over the floor. When my burger arrived, I was not satisfied with the portion size. My daughter ordered the chicken katsu curry and after trying it, I can say it was the worst we have had. It consisted of 2 southern fried chicken fillets with chip shop curry poured on top.

I came in on Friday tea time! The sun was shining and decided to go for a couple of drinks in the beer garden with my friends. The place was busy and the atmosphere was amazing! The staff were so polite and with the amount of people in handled it very well! I would like to mention that Olivia went above and beyond! I will be definitely coming back. The small plates looked amazing so will be trying them when I come back Thankyou!!!!
As the warm weather is taking a toll on me I stopped off at the back bull for a drink, I sat outside under the umbrellas, I orded on the app and the table service was amazing, I had a lovely conversation with Ellis the first time I opened and the second time i ordere a drink I had toni who brought it out who was lovely. I couldn't ask for better staff. Thank you The black bull
Went to the black bull on Friday night, it was quite busy and we got served by a new member of staff. Even though it was quite busy he still performed really well under pressure and had a smile on his face.
Came in for a bite to eat and what can I say fantastic staff and amazing food it’s lovely to meet the chef as he brought my burger out the burger was fantastic well done black bull team

The food was very nice and tasty I have been before early this year the chef Kyle brought us our meal out such a well mannered lad Josh on the bar also great customer service
