Today (February 7, 2020), I took my son out for lunch, and the staff were incredible! They went above and beyond to cater to my son, who is a picky eater. He absolutely loved the little basket they served his fries in, and they even let him take it home—it made his day! I was advised by the servers to try the macaroni and cheese, and I’m so glad I did; it was fantastic. Overall, it’s a 5-star experience all around: amazing food, wonderful staff, and outstanding service!
We took our 95-year-old mother/grandmother out for lunch. She is in a wheelchair and has a limited appetite, but she still loves getting out of the nearby care home. The staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The food is traditional pub fare—delicious, well-presented, and very reasonably priced. The pub/restaurant was clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The pub is quite decent, but there are no cask ales available, just a lot of popular options from the big red brand. The bottled Newcastle Brown Ale is a reasonable alternative.

My favorite pub in Dalkeith, and the food is amazing! I go for a meal and always end up staying for drinks!
The staff is friendly and welcoming, the drinks are excellent, and there's a fantastic covered beer garden.
