Black Mountain Bistro is a charming restaurant that offers a cozy atmosphere and delicious food options. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining there for both supper and lunch, and we were blown away by the quality of the dishes. During supper, my husband tried the Blackberry BBQ Porkchop while I opted for the Lemon Trout. Both dishes were generously portioned and cooked to perfection. I rarely give out 5 stars, 4's are above similar establishments, 3's are as expected. Our waitress was great. My food was great but we felt that was a lot to ask for so much T and not much B on the BLT. Service wise, we wish that we would have been asked if we preferred the upper or lower patio outside. There's a distinct difference in the seating and tables. That would have put my service rating at a 5. As a local, I highly suggest the Bistro for tourists and those just passing through. Trout was out of this world. Beautiful setting on a perfect afternoon. Too many diners with yappy dogs. Very well priced. Not enough parking. This is trout country and in much of the country, you won't see trout on the menu. Each serving was 2 large pieces which suggests it's a good year for trout! Parking: We squeezed into a tight spot, but while there was more parking near the restaurant, it looked full. Might be tricks I didn't know about. And, we arrived around 2pm, so it is probably worse at popular times (in season)
Large variety of sandwiches as well as sides. Great food and great service. The outside seating also allows you to enjoy the peaceful relaxed atmosphere of downtown Black Mountain. Had the grilled cheese and maple bacon sandwich and half a chicken salad sandwich and bowl of corn chowder. Both very good. We had a group of seven, and the menu catered to all our different tastes. The food was delicious, served promptly, and beautifully presented. From the appetizers to the cocktails, everything was perfect. Excellent food, fantastic service, a wonderful host, and great prices. We're coming back tonight for another birthday celebration!
This was our first visit, and my wife and I, along with two of our close friends, had a wonderful lunch after a day of fall activities. Our server was fantastic and had a great attitude. We will definitely be back!
Lovely little place, service got a little sluggish as they got busy, like they were unable to adapt. Would definitely come here again when I have more time to relax and adjust to the slower rhythm
