This is a difficult review to write. Bleu Marine wasn't bad, the food and wine pairings were very interesting. But it was definitely overpriced for what it offered. The food tries to be Michelin style, but isn't and probably shouldn't try so hard. The supposed six courses were only really four and a half courses, wines only matched with five dishes. The decor and overall appearance were pretty unimpressive.The wine pairings were good and the commentary passionate, but none of this made up for the fact that you can go around the corner to Le Clan and get a much better tasting menu at the same pricepoint, (wine pairings cost more at Le Clan) and have a meal experience which is very much better...
What an amazing experience! If I could give this wonderful restaurant ten stars, I would! To begin with (the most important part in my opinion), the food was spectacular. It truly was the best dining experience I have ever had. My partner and I opted in for the six course and it was a fabulous decision. There is only one chef, and she is fantastic at her job! One of the best waiter experiences I have ever had. Our waiter was extremely well versed in french cuisine, wine, champagne, and all the other drinks this restaurant has to offer. Our waiter was very personable, and you could tell they truly love their job! The experience of this place was absolutely fabulous! I highly recommend!!
Celebrating our honeymoon, we chose Bleu Marine for our last night in the Old City. We loved the idea of releasing our inhibitions and allowing the chef to choose our 6 courses. Each course was the appropriate size and we loved that we could linger over a wonderful bottle of excellent wine and continue our conversation. The pairing with the wine we chose was amazing. Textures and tastes exquisite! Many thanks to Chef Claudine for her talent and creativity and to our server Matthieu for his deep knowledge of wines and descriptions of the dishes. We will return. The service was good, with knowledgeable servers who explained the wine pairings well. However, we did feel that they could have been a bit more attentive with refilling our water, replacing cutlery and napkins after each course, and ensuring that the plates were served a bit more quickly. It felt like there was a 30-minute wait between courses, which might have been less noticeable in a better ambiance. I had a wonderful experience at Bleu Marine. The food was excellent, and I highly recommend trying the wine pairings (we shared a pairing). The waiter was very personable and friendly, making us feel right at home. It’s a fantastic way to dine—trusting the chef to showcase their flavors and style. The pork belly was exquisite and easily one of the best main dishes I've ever had. The combination of flavors was brilliant. While it’s not the cheapest option, it’s definitely worth it!
We very much enjoyed each of the courses and the paired wines. A lot of thought went into the flavor combinations and the presentation. I particularly loved the subtle flavors. Many chefs find it very easy to throw garlic and onion into foods to add flavor. But when dishes are this well prepared, the flavors speak for themselves. Finally, a special shout out to the wonderful people who served us. They were knowledgeable, funny, and just charming. What a special evening we had
We put ourselves in the hands of the chefs and staff and had an amazing experience! My wife had the 4 course and I had the 6 course tasting menu, with wine pairings. We came away stuffed and happy. Nothing was bad. The place has a great vibe casual and friendly, with upbeat music and stunning food. It's not at all stuffy or self conscious. So many of the seasoning, oils and essences that they use are made from scratch.It's not inexpensive, but worth every penny.
We had a memorable meal here in Wednesday. The whole experience was impeccable- service, wine pairings, and the food! We had a 3 plate tasting menu, and on each plate the work was outstanding. Can't wait to come back to Quebec City to return here. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch
