We don't eat meat so finding somewhere that serves vegetarian food or fish dishes is sometimes difficult in France, especially outside the cities, but finding somewhere that actually gives you a range of such dishes is a rarity. Blue Marine gave us approximately 5 dishes to choose from. Their plat du jour menu had a fish and veggie alternative for each of the courses so we were able to choose from the "cheaper" menu for a lunchtime special. We had the saumon fumee to start (quite salty) and the brochette de thun (tuna) for the main course - excellent value and excellent service. Popped in for a quick lunch recently and chose the menu du jour. This was not our first visit - when it opened it was fantastic but every time since the portions have got smaller, the fish soup thinner and the moules l had the other day l would have been ashamed to serve. Instead of a delicious sauce of wine and cream it was little more than water. Shame - a fish restaurant in this area is most welcome - would be happy to pay a little more for food of a higher standard.
How nice it is to find a restaurant in the middle of France serving fresh and well presented food with attentive and friendly service. The menue of the day offers a coice of dishes at a very good price. Evening meals can be a little expensive but are prepared from fresh ingredients purchased locally. We have eaten here on a number of occasions, both lunch and dinner and have never been disappointed. Now one of our favourites in the area.
We moved here a few months ago and since then have eaten in the Blue Marine several times and taken many of our guests. The staff are very welcoming, the chef is lovely and we have always had fantastic food here. In particular the plat de fruit de mer and brochettes de crevettes!Best to eat inside as the dining room is very pleasant, whereas the outside tables face a not very scenic road.Definitely our favourite restaurant in the town.

This place is inexpensive, friendly and welcoming. It is souriant which means smiling in french. Good vibes, superb seafood. Go there fast before the prestigious guides "discover" it.
Best restaurant in Villeneuve sur lot worth a visit , good service and great food . I've never been disappointed and their special haddock dish to die for !

Simple place with good fresh food. We like it a lot. One of us was on a diet and the chef was kind enough to accommodate the guest.
