Under new management so gave it a go as last time the food wasn’t brilliant and the place a bit grubby. Had pie and mash with veg and gammon egg and chips. Pie home made and very tasty , good size too, the veg over...cooked and mash needed to be creamier but all edible. The gammon very tasty and chips tasty, all in all a good meal and would eat here again. The place was clean but is looking bit tired now and needs refurbishment. Good luck guys hope the owners listen and will be back.
Great pub serving lunch and dinner 7 days a week. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. It's deceptively large with a separate restaurant and a beautiful covered canal side terrace. They have various mid week special offers. One of their offers...is buy 1 drink for the price of 2 and get a 2nd drink FREE! apparently this offer is available all day every day The terrace looks a nice place to relax on a sunny day. Look forward to returning soon.
I've been here for evening meals on numerous occasions and I can't fault the place. Curry night on Wednesday evenings, 2 for 1 steaks on a Thursday evening (my favourite), the food is always cooked beautifully and you get a right good plateful. The staff...are always friendly and helpful, on busy days you may have a short wait for your food but it's always worth the wait, NEVER had a bad meal here
I had a wonderful dining experience at this charming rural pub. I ordered the Hot Dog for my main course and the mac and cheese as a starter, both of which were delicious. it was for a place of lunch, eating was good, but nothing special. my steak-Pie had cheese up there, which was a little slanted and maic was a little dry, but nothing was bad. nice friendly staff. we were sitting outside the canal. very nice. recommended for a lunch stop.
Popped in for a couple of pints and a meal around 1pm mid walk. Three cask ales on so I was sorted. Very good menu and a few extra specials. Very nice food and surrounding. Well worth a visit and we will definitely be returning
