We actually went for dinner on the Saturday and lunch on Sunday. The service delivered by Hannah, on Saturday, and the young lady with three dyed parts in her hair, on Sunday, was efficient, friendly and a pleasure to experience. We found that there were more staff available since the refurb and the menu was more interesting. The children’s menu was far better than it used to be. Our food was also nice and the atmosphere was not deafening as in other restaurants where you cannot hear yourself think. An ask from us would be more healthy salads as mains please and some fish options that are not fried. The dishes have quite high calorie counts. Thank you!
Nice setting. Front of house was good. We ordered a jug of water that we had to ask for a second time before it was delivered to our table. Portion sizes were small.I ordered the slow cooked rib of beef and was served sirloin. Seasonal veg appeared to be frozen peas. Deserts again were small portions. I ordered the salted caramel sundae, half of which appeared to be missing. It was just pieces of chocolate brownie in a glass with vanilla ice cream. No chocolate ice cream, cheesecake, whipped cream or salted caramel sauce as stated on the menu. Would we return? Probably not.
I went here for food today during a week away with work. the food was ok and the service was good considering the lady who looked like the manageress was extremely moody and spent most of my visit standing about and bossing her staff members which made them look like they didn't want to be there and made me feel uncomfortable and very sorry for them.
So we went to see what the refurb was like . It’s a big improvement However the food was as bad as ever in fact worse My scampi wasn’t cooked through ,chips were soggy . My husbands fish was overcooked The rest of our friends who like us live round the corner can’t believe it’s not got any better To top it the young waiter wasn’t bothered

Not good value for £15 for smothered chicken which was a slither of a chicken breast with fatty bacon hardly any cheese, the chips looked and tasted like they’d come from the bottom of the chip pan, rocket was covered in a mustard sauce, the waiter was v nice so didn’t like to anything to him as it wasn’t his fault but won’t be returning
Wonderful lunch, in amazing surroundings. The refurbish is amazing. The place looks so different, but still retains the feel of the place I've loved it to be. Fabulous service with a smile, and the food was brilliant too. Great job, and I'll be back regularly!
Clean and relaxing atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Food tasted great. Bonus was the birthday voucher entitling me to a bottle of wine with our meals. All in all an enjoyable afternoon
Really great venue right on the river. Great food and service. Becky looked after us and with the rest of the staff we couldn’t fault it at all. Will definitely come back again.
