Though service was of high quality, the food didn’t live up to the expectation. We had heard of BV’s several times and randomly found a Groupon for a dinner for What better way to try out a new spot?! We ordered for appetizers, the French Onion Soup (delicious), shrimp cocktail (generous and tasted fresh). Our meal consisted of a ribeye up-charge) and a filet mignon with shareable sides of mashed potatoes, sautéed Brussels Sprouts, and asparagus. the one thing that stood out, it was meat in the house salad with garnel and meat was not listed on the menu. some shape of speck or hardened pork. many small pieces. I wish I had sent it back and got a simple salad with grilled salmon on it. do not like if ingredients are not listed. I asked if there is any milk and the waiter said no what was good, as I am lactose intolerant. I generally don't eat meat and never thought to ask because it seemed to be a healthy salad.
We were in DC on vacation. We always try to find at least one nice restaurant during vacation. Bobby Van’s hit the spot! The steak was very good (husband and I shared Porterhouse) and my sons had filet. The sides are family style. We had Mac and cheese (to die for! mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was perfect! We will definitely be back!
Food superb as always (salads, ribeyes and sides), wine a bit overpriced. One of my favorite places and will return next time in town—outstanding service and a great overall experience)

Amazing experience and cannot wait to go back again! Everything was delicious (would not get the sautéed spinach again) but still it was good!
