Very nice owners who stayed open a bit longer to serve us (everywhere closes quite early in Cairns it seems). They had a vegan menu which was good plenty of options (including pani puri which wasn't on the regular menu) They were very particular about the vegan items (I was with a vegetarian and meat eaters). They seemed to be avoiding cross contamination in the kitchen which is always appreciated Felt like it could be more hygienic owner/chef was also serving at the end their clothes had a lot of food on them. But saying that, the cutlery/plates/glasses weren't unclean.
Want actual flavour that is traditional and culturally true? Surpassing the standard keens curry powder and frozen veg with poor rice. A real chef not a taxi driver! Family based restaurant with friendly owner and entertaining young one. Real vegetables, real flavour and real desserts . Sateesh was a dessert chef in india. Why pay for dishes you can make from a packet? Affordable prices. . Kadhai paneer highly recommended!
We felt like a curry but didn't know where to go and then we stumbled across the Bombay Kitchen in Shields Street in Cairns. Such a delight! The food was authentic and simply delicious. The service was friendly and fabulous. Even the chef came out to assist in our selection. I highly recommend the Bombay Kitchen. I'll be back.

Love that they have a separate vegan menu and we enjoyed all our food, especially the onion bhaji. They don't have vegan naan as the description says, but they do have vegan roti.
Have a large separate vegan menu (available on request), including vegan naan, entries, all curries etc., many options to choose from. Delicious food, friendly staff, good wine.
The entree and meals were well cooked and the service was excellent.the mudras lamb was so tender it just melted in your mouth.
