I used to be a fan of Bonchon in NYC, but after trying the Jersey City location last Sunday, I don't think I'll be returning to any of their stores. There are plenty of other Korean fried chicken restaurants to choose from now. The Jersey City location seemed run down and had an unpleasant smell. The bench seating had many tears patched up with duct tape, and the tables and fixtures looked dirty and old. The japchae was overly sweet and the noodles were a bit chewy. The 5-piece spicy fried drumsticks lacked flavor - I suspect they may have forgotten to sauce them. Spending over $30 at a fast food chain for 2 menu items that were just okay and didn't taste great is not worth it for me.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the rice bowls, chicken, and pickled dichon from here. Decided to get the kimchi coleslaw today to try. It is awful. I love regular kimchi, but I honestly cannot tell if this slaw is rancid or not. It just doesn't taste good at all. I do not recommend this. Maybe I'll try their regular kimchi next time. Stay away from the slaw.
Love the lunch specials from this restaurant, portions are large and the chicken is very tasty! I'd say I like this fried chicken better than almost any other for how crispy it is, the soy garlic sauce is a must-try. Definitely one of the best food deals you can get in the Grove Street area at lunchtime.
Wow... This meal was amazing! I ordered a combo with onion rings, wings, and drumsticks, half and half. The chicken was still perfect even after 25 minutes when I arrived back home in Bayonne. It was spicy, crunchy, not greasy, and not overly seasoned. Stop wasting time and place an order right away!

I got the chicken katsu and it was delicious. Really good mix of the spicy Mayo and katsu sauce and the rice was cooked perfectly. I also got kimchi with steamed rice, but the kimchi was bland and not very good at all. But the chicken is awesome
This is one of my favorite spots for high-quality chicken. It's a great place to unwind, people-watch, and enjoy delicious food, or all of the above. I will definitely be coming back. It reminds me of a restaurant I enjoyed in New York.
This restaurant is in a fantastic location and serves delicious food. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the bill was reasonable for the portion sizes. The dining experience reminded me of a cafe in Indianapolis that I enjoyed.
Always order delivery from here whenever I'm craving for fried chicken and needed a break from diet and stressful work! Wish they have 15 wings options for take out though, that would be the perfect amount for two persons

The spicy chicken wings, thighs, and other dishes are truly delicious and consistent. The cole slaw pairs perfectly with them.
The chicken is good, but be prepared for a long wait time of an hour or more unless you call well in advance.
