Excellent food and great service. This is one of my favourite restaurants anywhere. Even in the city centre, I haven’t found an Indian style restaurant where I like the food more. Starters were good but the main courses are exceptional. I had Juipiri, tried my friends Tikka Masala. All very good. Rice good and the Nan breads were pretty decent too. Parking nearby is available but you sometimes need to walk 5 minutes. The downside here is that the prices have gone up yet again. It seems that every time we go! £14.95 for my main, £8 starter, Nan and rice up too. Costs have gone up for restaurants, but so have my bills and my wages haven’t, so I either go here less often or find somewhere else....
Simply the best meat samosa I have ever had and I have tried many around the world. Packed with perfectly cooked lamb and light pastry. Excellent Indian food , cooked from such fresh ingredients. Linen table clothes and napkins, really classy yet welcoming to all. Great service too!. All in all a wonderful evening with my brother as I visited Edinburgh. Highly recommend this place in funky Portobello
The atmosphere of Bonful Restaurant is very good,as well as their staff is also excellent and their food quality is very good and delicious. Bonoful is one of the best restaurants I have visited in Portobello. A perfect place to spend a good time.
Probably the best Indian restaurant in Scotland! I love Indian food and have been to a lot of Indian restaurants around Scotland, and the Bonoful is by far the best!! Well worth a try if you’re in or around Portobello!

First time trying out this restaurant and am very impressed with the quality of the food. The setting and atmosphere of the restaurant is also very nice and relaxing. Have to visit this restaurant again soon !
I would highly recommend this restaurant. Ate at 6pm. Poppadoms and pickles whilst we chose. Prompt service, good wine and excellent food. Clean restaurant and facilities. Nothing to dislike.
Great vibe inside, the staff are so friendly and the food was amazing! Very clean environment. Well presented and looked after. Reasonably priced too! Will definitely be back
