My love for chocolate is choconormous. Need I say more. I've always wanted to visit bracegirdle's for their amazing reviews online for chocolate. Went there on a late Saturday morning a while back to sample their hot chocolate. Taste that would want you to come back for another visit. It was cold outside which made it perfect for a hot chocolate. It was really good. The place was really crowded. It's located in a prime spot where people hang out a lot so that says it all. The staff were really sweet and always smiling. I didn't regret my visit. When I'm back in Adelaide next, I'll go there with no doubt!
Lovely relaxed Ambience on Jetty road. Can sit and watch the world walk past or indulge in all things Chocolate. We had Breakfast: I had the big breakfast and my wife had waffle, strawberry, vanilla ice cream ( yes ICE cream) with their famous chocolate drizzled all over and the latter was fantastic. The omelet in the breakfast felt way too dense, similar to what I have had in some hotels in Asia made of reconstituted egg ( I am sure it is not). But otherwise the quality of the ingredients were undeniable. The coffee was generous and excellent. Service with a smile made it an overall pleasant experience
We enjoyed the food, but the customer service was probably the worst I'd ever experienced. No smiles from any of the 3 staff we interacted with. No pleasantries whatsoever. I politely asked a staff member to clear our table from the previous customers and was given a stern look and the dishes were removed with attitude and no comment. General feeling in this place was that we were a nuisance and interfering with their day. First time here, but won't be back.
Tried Big breakfast there which wasn't really big. Yet, they've got the stylish hash brown which was good. The in house chocolate was so delicious and you can choose the type of chocolate. You have 3 choices which are milk, dark & white chocolate to make your hot chocolate. Tried Dark and it was really "Dark". The dessert was not bad and not too sweet. We droped in for breakfast on our way south. Easy park right out front was a bonus though i don't expect that will always happen. Meal was good, not huge but filling. Coffee was also good, about a 7 / 10. The custom made coffee machine was a sweet surprise, what a work of art it was. Looked like a top fuel drag car. Picked up some chocolates for the road. Fantastic selection on hand.
Decided to treat the kids to brunch after Saturday morning sport. They chose waffles, we chose Bracegirdle's. The kids enjoyed their huge serve of waffles, strawberries and vanilla ice cream with delicious Belgian chocolate sauce. I admit I sampled some of theirs. Rich, but really really good! And we enjoyed our coffees.
Had the privilege of being able to watch how Bracegirlde chocolate is made. I am impressed it is all hand made here in Adelaide. There are so many options from little bite sized chocolates to a full on scrumptious dessert. You will LOVE thier hot chocolates. Their coffee art is pretty cool too.
If you see the shop looking full, don't be put off as there are several semi private rooms and a balcony upstairs to accommodate more people.There is a huge selection, so go in with an open mind (and empty tummy if you want to try options!).Hot choccy's and coffees were great. I was expecting more from this award winning chocolateria but the raspberry mud cake I had, apparently a favourite, was lacking in the texture department and quite average. Well presented though.
