Orange as a town is well worth a stop over, roman sites, interesting and individual shops, and good parking near the centre. We then took the route nationale up to Valence, rather than joining the autoroute again (at the recommendation of the owner, good advice , this is a lovely drive, mostly straight and good roads, passing a few small towns, with beautiful scenery, bien sûr . lavender fields, mountain pass, roman Le Palace was a great find, just 200 metres from the busy centre. We saw a passage to the "Village after having searched in vain an open restaurant in Annonay.One of the rare if it is the only one to provide service. well received and advised for a simple but refined and tasteful cuisine. a good place to eat in orange. not especially cheap, but if it is true that so close to the theater there is no place. good food and very friendly staff. the owner was born in valence and he tried to make him understand to explain all the dishes and give us some conversation.
