In this picturesque medieval town of Yvoire, on the shores of Geneva lake, there is this very nice restaurant Brasserie Les Cygnes. Just as you walk from the port to the town and you start to turn uphill don't miss this one. Food for vegetarians and omnivores, like tartines with bruschetta, cheese and salads or roasted Camembert with caramel and oven potatoes is served with local wine from Haute Savoie such as Crepy, or from other French regions. Came here with the family for lunch. The place was very busy, which may have contributed to the slow service. I guess we were just lucky to get a table. The menu was quite limited - half a dozen salads (of good size) some meat plates and some traditional calzone-like cheese dishes. Surprisingly, there was no fish and the kids meals were burgers with fries and steak with fries. The terrace with views of the lake was very nice and really makes the place worth it. The food is reasonably priced relative to other places in town as well. It was not our first choice, but an pleasant afternoon lunch all in all. Service could be faster and menu a bit larger.
