Pauls was recommended to us by the hotel receptionist at the Ibis Styles in Rouen. It was a great suggestion as we were unsure of the place, staying there for the first time. The place is less than 5 minutes walk from our hotel & we did not have a reservation. The place was quite crowded for a Monday night but we were given a good table by the window.Service was slow to begin with but once our order was placed, our food arrived in reasonable time. The food was top notch, the wine was great & the service improved considerably. We left the place feeling very happy with everything.
Here is one of the restaurant you should not miss. Excellent traditional French food. The à la carte menu is not a long list (but the variety of choice is enough for a connoisseur) that means each offer is perfectly cooked. While the restaurant was very busy, the service was excellent too. In that kind of restaurant you should appreciate time to talk with your spouse or your friend and enjoy the meal too. Then, after dinner, comes the sound and light show (11pm) at the wonderful cathedral which is in front of the restaurant. Memorable experience. Great evening.
Simple but so perfectly cooked food and presented without fuss as it should be. Very relaxed dining we just couldn't fault Brasserie Paul on a very hot day after sightseeing till we dropped. The staff are extremely helpful. Good English spoken but they so appreciate you making the effort whenever possible to speak in French which we should afterall. The Crepes!!!. To die for totally blew us Both away. Can't recommend brasserie Paul high enough. Not expensive and great food. Totally relaxing. Will visit again hopefully soon.
We got an excellent service always with a smile, and very helpful with the .They actually have two restaurant next to each other, one for complete mealsand one for sandwiches and snacks, both are great your order will be taken by either one of the location as they are next to each other. Toilets were very clean.

Thank you voulzy laurent who speaks of this establishment in his book my cathedrals and who gave me the desire to visit the cathedral of the wheel and the dinner paul. very satisfied with this establishment. excellent cuisine and impeccable service.
On point staff, very helpful. The meat was tremendously good, and the "Chausson" was as good if not better than the main. The location is perfect (and actually quite quiet), we had an amazing view of the cathedral. A huge and unexpected hit.
Without being over critical, the food was just OK. Menu is limited and the service could have been quicker, getting a drink replenishment was difficult on a very busy night and it took ages to pour the beers.
if you cant get past schoolboy /girl french don't worry they made us very welcome. Had a very good meal,and a good bottle of wine. would definitely recommend
