When we were in Hallstatt a few years ago, this restaurant had a dish with the most amazing horseradish stuffing. I couldn't wait to return.Arriving in Hallstatt this trip with my wife and kids, we dropped off our luggage and headed to the Braugasthof. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the horseradish stuffing dish on the menu!Still, we had a delicious lunch. Visiting Hallstatt with my family we wanted to have lunch and enjoy the beautiful view. We got the attention of a femail waiter who told us to go to a certain table where an elderly couple were leaving. On our way to the table the family (my children 6 and 8 ) obviously got in the way of another waiter (male) who was very rude and didn't try to hide his anger. When we reached the table, and were about to sit there, the third waiter arrived (male) and said that we couldn't sit there, as it was supposed to be for another guests. My son and I are staying in the Braugasthof Lobisser, so we decided to eat at the restaurant associated with it across the street. We waited for a table by the lake, and the view was exceptional. As there were only two of us, they seated another couple with us. We were fine with it, but some people might not like that.We had the goulash and the steak. Both were great. The apple strudel was only okay. Service was friendly, but stoic. The food came out amazingly fast, leading me to believe that they had their few menu items prepared and ready to go. One thing I liked was that they will give you a carafe of tap water free of charge.For good food with a great view, this is your choice.

Ich war für drei Nächte in Hallstatt und habe jeden Abend hier gegessen und die gesamte Speisekarte probiert! : Das gesamte Essen war großartig, aber mein Favorit war der lokal gefangene Fisch und der Kaiserschmarnn, der mit Apfelmus statt der üblichen Pflaume serviert wurde. Der Blick auf den See und die Schwäne beim Essen ist einfach idyllisch: Das Personal ist super freundlich und höflich: Das Abendmenü, das ich gegessen habe, beginnt um 5.30 Uhr. Diesmal bin ich herumgegangen und musste nicht anstehen, aber ich denke, wenn man später ankommt, muss man vielleicht anstehen, aber das Warten ist Arbeit:
Disappointed... Great view and spot. The menu promising but the portions are small and far from being a good and decent meal. The prices are high and service is not a nice and welcoming. It was a big disappointment. The taste of food at least was good.
we had nice austrian food, schnitzel, wurst, sauerkraut. But the view next to the See is amazing! it´s really worth seating there and enjoy the wonderful view!
We stayed at Braugasthof and tried our dinner here. We ordered grilled fish and boiled potatoes and pasta with tomato, pesto and parmesan, and fish soup.

Schöner Ort zum Abendessen in Hallstatt. Traditionelles Essen und Bier. Schlimm ist, dass man nicht mit Karte bezahlen kann.
