Ausgezeichnetes Essen, alle Biere ausgezeichnet, zwei müssen besonders hervorgehoben werden: das Braunbier im Bohème-Stil, das in Österreich nicht so verbreitet ist, und das Midium, das erste Lagerbier mit weniger als Alkohol, das ich je getrunken habe wirklich...gut, kein Grund, ein stärkeres Bier zu trinken. Wer Freistadt besucht, muss dorthin. Leider habe ich zu spät herausgefunden, dass es ab 17:00 Uhr serviert wird. ein zweites ungefiltertes Bier namens Kellerbier aus einem Holzfass, daher kann ich zu diesem hochinteressanten Bier nichts sagen. Das einzige, was mich störte, war die Feststellung, dass sie nach dem Verzehr von Bier, zwei Vorspeisen und zwei Hauptgerichten auch das Leitung...
We came for dinner after a long working day and thoroughly enjoyed both food and service. The beers (yes, we tasted our way through!) are exceptional, to my taste exceptionally the Zwickel. The Schweinsbraten (pork roast) was sensational, and my friend's "Steckerlfisch" (a saibling smoke-roast on a stick, see picture) was also great, and a typical Austrian treat for a hot summer. We would return in a heartbeat.
We visited the Brauhaus because my maiden name is Freistadt and so is the beer's! We were a little disappointed as the gift shop and tours shuts down at noon on a Saturday and doesn't open again until Monday. The beer was good, though, and the restaurant and outdoor beer gardens were lovely.
Freistadt has its own brewery. You can tour it and they have a gift shop, as well, but we were sad to discover that everything in town pretty much shuts down at noon on a Saturday and doesn't open again until Monday morning.

Ein lebhafter Ort in der Stadt. Tolles Essen und vor Ort gebrautes Bier. Die Suppe ist großartig, der Apfelstrudel der beste, den wir seit zwei Wochen hatten. Wir haben unsere Zeit hier wirklich genossen.
This is a lively restaurant with full menu of traditional Austrian food all freshly cooked and served by traditionally dressed waiting staff, the beer is great too being part of a brewery.
A restaurant/bar within the town's brewery, with a lovely beer garden. Great food and good service in a wonderful location, and the brewery tour is a must.
Whether you tour the brewery or not, stop by for a great beer and a bite to. eat. Between 2-6 only light meals, but a delightful menu for a light meal.

Toured brau haus and then had dinner in their restaurant. Food and beer was quite excellent. Would recommend for the true Austrian experience.
