I've been here a few times in the past when co-workers came from the city, but tonight our siblings were the first time we came together in a restaurant in years without children. My wife and I were the first to arrive and after check-in with the host we went to the bar for a quick app and a cocktail. Daniel? the entrance says only PM Bar) was fantastic. Some short flavors of their 30 taps and some cocktail recommendations. We all ended up with a cocktail Sazerac Rye Manhattan Spiced Pear Martini) and the meat and cheese plate to follow us until the rest arrived. We booked Brewer's for our 22-person rehearsal lunch (a short walk from our venue, the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation), and we had a blast! We had a large section of the outdoor patio, the food and drinks were great, and the staff were so nice and accommodating.In the weeks leading up to the event, I had worked with Jodie on the menu. She was so kind and patient, and kept my budget in mind. In the end, we were perfectly on budget, and yet we felt like we had plenty of food options, quantity, etc.!We had a really lovely time, and Brewers was so helpful, especially since we had to reschedule once due to the pandemic. Definitely five stars!
This place is excellent for Friday evening drinks, featuring a wide selection of beers on tap. There are plenty of large tables available for group seating. The Narragansett lager from Rhode Island is smooth and easy to drink, making it a great choice. The flight of four 5-ounce beers is a fantastic way to sample the menu's variety. I highly recommend the Hill Farm Marie, which has a fragrant, sweet flavor without any bitterness. Another standout is the Shirley Mar Porter, a light option with a delightful coffee taste. The Trillium Congress Street IPA and Tilted Barn's other double IPA are both juicy and aromatic, with the characteristic IPA aftertaste.
For brunch, I ordered the avocado toast, which featured two large, thick slices of bread generously topped with avocado spread, cheese, tomatoes, and chopped avocado. I was so satisfied that I wasn’t even hungry anymore! The bartender was attentive and noticed an issue with the eggs in my date's Benedict, so he had the kitchen fix it before serving. We only realized this because we had mentioned how quickly mine arrived. The industrial ambiance really appeals to me as well, with its elements of repurposed canal work, bricks, and wood. Made a reservation was promptly seated at the worst seat in the place. Waited about 10-15 minutes and never was waited on. Not even a water. There were only 2 servers in the place but it wasn't that busy. I did notice that the server was at a table of a party of 2 that came after us, of course they made a fuss while we just left. Don't take reservations if you don't have the staff to serve them.I didn't get food but was disappointed to see the Eggs Benedict was made with a sunny side egg not a poached.
I attended a company party at this restaurant and was immediately impressed by the atmosphere. The bartender was fantastic and mixed a drink that I really enjoyed, which I believe was called something like Heineken. There’s convenient parking nearby, with rates of $1 per hour for up to three hours. The food served to us was varied and absolutely delicious. This is a great spot for friends to gather or for events like mine. I would definitely give it five stars!
Clean bar and restaurant. Open mic night was fun. Acoustic treatment could be better but definitely great to have local live music. Falafel wrap was tasty but the wrap was a bit dry.
