Over the years, this hotel has undergone several transformations, and the latest one has made the dining and event space both comfortable and inviting. The Caravan theme, featuring a half deconstructed old van and historical photos, evokes fond memories for those who have frequented Bribie Island as a holiday destination. We opted for a set meal package, and any last-minute changes were handled with calm professionalism by the management and staff—a true testament to the manager's leadership. The air-conditioned area offers a lovely view of the channel and the bridge. On Wednesday, I visited Charlie's Bistro with some friends for a meal. Four out of five of us ordered Charlie's Everyday Value Meal, but unfortunately, it was a poor choice. For the first time, I encountered a meal that seemed to have been reheated in a microwave. The dish consisted of dry meat, mixed gravy, and soggy potatoes, which left a lot to be desired. My wife and I were particularly disappointed, as we used to enjoy meals at this venue when we lived on Bribie Island.
I visited the restaurant yesterday on Easter Saturday, and despite the crowd, the staff managed everything very well. They provided entertainment for the kids, which was a nice touch, and all the staff members were incredibly friendly. I had the eye fillet steak, and it was the best steak I've ever had in my life. I'll definitely be returning; the prices are excellent and it's a great place for families.
First time visiting today food was great and very reasonably priced. Bistro was quite busy but all staff where very accommodating and friendly especially the Hotel Manager Chris who went out of his way to speak to diners and make sure everyone was happy. The staff were very friendly, and I had the roast of the day, which was lamb. It was a great value! The gravy and Yorkshire pudding were delicious, and the prices, along with the specials, were quite reasonable. Definitely worth a visit if you're on Bribie!
Thursday night a group of 10 adults came along for the Christmas in July special. Could not fault the table decorations, service and or food. Amazing night fun and laughter thank you Charlies team it was great.
The food was average. I tried the famous huh kiew, but it wasn't anything exceptional. On the plus side, it was one of the few places open on New Year's Day, and the service was nice with friendly staff.
