Most amazing BBQ I have ever had so far in life. Never been to the south so I don’t really have much to compare it to. Flavors are amazing, packaging for to go orders are thoughtful. Portions for price is really awesome—each “meal” here is basically two meals (IMO). So for 15 bucks I have dinner and lunch the next day, which is a win to me. The standout aside from the pulled pork, chicken and brisket was the hush puppies, cornbread and the jalapeño sausage. All packed with flavor, a hint of spice and texture is heavenly. The food was not only visually stunning but also incredibly tasty! They have an impressive selection of draft beers and a wonderful variety of wines available by the bottle. The house red offered by the glass was exceptional. Additionally, they provide a separate gluten-free menu as well as a celiac menu, featuring plenty of choices. I appreciate that all their sauces are gluten-free. It's great to see them clearly differentiate between gluten-free and celiac options, and they seem very knowledgeable about preventing allergen cross-contamination, which is quite rare in Seattle. Coming from the South, I’ve been looking for good barbecue here for a long time. I’ve tried many places and most get something right but it still doesn’t taste like BBQ should, in my opinion. The BRISKET here was PHENOMENAL!! You know the meat is on point when you don’t need sauce to flavor it. The sliced brisket was seasoned to perfection, moist, and with a crispy edge. I can’t say enough good things about it. The brisket chili and banana pudding were dynamite as well…all while looking over a beautiful view of Lake Washington. Kudos y’all! One negative is the parking but not much you can do about that.
It’s almost unfair to rate the service and atmosphere because nobody comes here for either of those. It’s all about the BBQ, and considering we’re in Seattle, it’s very good. In fact, I think they’ve gotten even better post-pandemic.m, if that’s possible. The brisket is amazing. The spicy bbq sauce has a little heat, which my whole family likes. My wife remarked yesterday that the side dishes are better than the last few times we ordered. She’s right. Best bargain on the menu is a pulled pork sandwich with a side. Delicious. Without a doubt, the best spare ribs I've ever had! While I can understand that the other main and side dishes might appeal to some and not to others—like the chicken, brisket, and cornbread, which were just okay for me but enjoyed by my family—there's no debate about the ribs. They are absolutely incredible! I always opt for a full rack of ribs with the crowned green seasoning and aggies, and at $45, I think that's a very reasonable price. I'm really glad they're located nearby!
I’ve never been a big fan of BBQ, but this place was fantastic! The service was incredibly quick and friendly. They have a wide variety of options on their menu, and you can easily mix and match your plates. The catfish was cooked just right, and the fries were tasty; I think I’ll try the hush puppies next time. The mac and cheese was a highlight for sure. The meat had a great smoky flavor and was leaner than I expected. I would definitely come back!
The spare ribs were delicious, and the sides—cole slaw, cornbread, and baked beans—were fantastic as well. I will definitely be coming back!
