Very regular customers here and usually could not fault the food and service we receive. There are quite a few new members of staff and I think that will to make sure no one leaves unhappy has gone. After booking a week previous and entering today there was a sign saying cash only. Usually I have no cash, but today I did so no worries. My party all ate and had a very good meal and the service was good, that was until payment time, the only cash I had included a £50 note. Visited here today with a group of friends . Starters all arrived very quickly and were lovely and hot . We then waited for over one hour for the mains to arrive which were all cold . We requested that the meals were warm . The chef was extremely rude storming through the restaurant huffing at our table making us feel very uncomfortable . Food was returned a few items at a time with only half the meal so when the second half arrived the first part again was cold . Steaks were reheated over salted and rubbery . We were recommended to Brinsley lodge by our daughter and son in law who are regular visitors. We weren’t disappointed. Lovely welcome and staff attentive . We had the chefs special sharing nachos. Oh my word! Absolutely delicious. We had mix grill (paid an extra £1 for the burger) plus peppercorn sauce and the final dish admiral fish finger bloomer. Both came with homemade fires and onion rings plus a corn on the cob. The portions were very plentiful, delicious and reasonably priced. As per anywhere else the drinks are what bumps up the price. First time for a long time. On entry what was noticed was how loud the music was playing on a radio or something like that. Difficult trying to find somewhere that wasn't so loud. The lunch menu seemed to have more choice on for us but that stops at 5pm as we really didn't want a big meal like steak etc. But we opted for surf and turf. Service was ok and the food. The food came and we didn't have to wait long and decided on sweets consisting of cheesecake and fudge cake which were both ok. On the whole not a bad visit but just the music too loud. Our family went for a meal about 1pm new years eve the upstairs wasn't very busy just a few tables taken. We had to go and ask someone to take our order after waiting to long. When the food came it was delicious couldn't fault it. But then we waited and waited for someone to collect our plates to order desserts but gave up in the end and paid the bill. Couldn't understand it as there were plenty of staff on. Don't think we will hurry back.
The food was excellent,at a reasonable price.However,they obviously make up for their reasonable price by charging over the top for drinks. £6.06 for a pint of Guinness blackcurrent is nearly as much as a fairly local Greene King pub charges for a 3 course meal,and they don't over charge for drinks.
Our experience at this restaurant was terrible. The service was rude and unprofessional, the food was cold, poorly presented, and extremely salty. The management's response to our complaint was unsatisfactory, with no apologies offered by the staff. It is not worth your money or time to dine here.
Enjoy a Christmas feast with a 3-course meal for only £19.19. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was sublime. I can't wait to come back next year. The Christmas dinner at this restaurant was fantastic, just like homemade. The value for money is excellent and the staff are exceptional. It is definitely worth a visit.
