I wouldn't describe Gems as great, but I wouldn't label it as bad either. I've ordered food from there multiple times. The bagels are decent, though I personally prefer them to be a bit crunchier on the outside. The cream cheeses are quite good, and while the breakfast sandwiches are enjoyable, they don't stand out as exceptional. The prices for the sandwiches feel a bit steep considering what you receive. I ran 22 miles from Princeton to Parlin, and after a rough moment in a Knights of Columbus parking lot, I made it to the bay. To top off the day, I enjoyed what might be the best toasted everything bagel with cream cheese while sitting in a Prius. The staff also kindly filled up my water bottle for me, which was really thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this place—10/10!
Bagel shops are all over but Gems Broadway Bagels in South Amboy NJ serve a quality product at a reasonable cost fast efficient and friendly counter people get your order and get you out fast their coffee is excellent as well

Bagels still warm whenever I go in. I favor the Jalapeno n Cheddar bagel. they also have Fresh Chocolate Chip cookies that are soft and delicious!Stop by and give them a try!
Delicious. Great coffee fresh and great bagels! I've gotten subs there and breakfast sandwiches but bagel toasted with cream cheese just hits the spot!!!
