As for the ribs, they were incredible! My friend offered me a piece, and as soon as I touched the bone, the meat just fell right off. They were extremely juicy and tender, with a flavor that was off the charts! Honestly, they were among the best ribs I've ever had. The quality of the meat here is some of the finest in Alabama. The sauce was vinegar-based and had a nice kick, although it had a gritty texture, so I used it sparingly. The beans were good, though a bit too sharp for my taste; they had a spicy kick that lingered. I finished them, but they weren't my favorite part of the meal. As time went on, my father-in-law passed away, we relocated, and the restaurant's original owner also passed on. He entrusted his cherished recipe to his daughter, who turned out to be just as talented a BBQ chef as her father. I have finally been able to try this place out. Sometimes simple is the best way to do things. This is exactly what they do here. They keep it simple and it works great! The food is very good. They do not have any seating for dine in but that is no problem. Get it to go and have a picnic outside at a park or eat at home. Either way it is very good. The slaw is awesome and the sauce is spicy. The prices are very good and the service is quick and friendly. I highly recommend eating here and I will be coming back for more!
This was the final dining stop on our trip, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. It’s the kind of family-run establishment that makes you want to come back. There’s so much history here. I enjoyed a delicious plate of ribs accompanied by authentic homemade potato salad and their special coleslaw—yum! I stopped by to pick up baked beans and coleslaw for a church event, and I must say, they did not disappoint! Both dishes were a huge success! I also tried their traditional wings while I was there, and they were fantastic!
Hands down the best bbq around. Been eating here since I was a kid. It changed a little bit a few years ago but it's all good. It's still the best....
