Greetings my Foodzies, yesterday we went to Brooster’s’s open hearth chicken at 434 22nd St in Lombard. It was a nice clean restaurant with counter ordering and expedited table service. Seating was a choice of table or booth. They had music from the 50s 60s playing which was nice and since we were the only ones there we could hear it perfectly. We tried the steak sandwich with mashed potato and the steak on a stick with rice and coleslaw. The steak was cooked well but terribly under seasoned. I was surprised that since they had a vast grilling area that there was no char. The mash potatoes had a unique flavor, it tasted as if it was made with chicken broth. I enjoyed it that and the coleslaw...
Took my daughters here for early dinner. The staff wasn't really friendly, mediocre at best. What was the most disappointing was the food. I understand the area. but for $13 dollar burrito I get 4 pieces of steak and a salad wrapped in the tiniest flour tortilla I have ever seen. My daughters had the rice and chicken skewers and the chicken was flavorful but I've seen unused sponges less dry then that. really disappointing I've seen this place many times and been wanting to try it out, well now I know.
Always great service and great food. I've been a customer for about 10 years. Our dealership orders food from there frequently and they've never got an order wrong. Everything is fresh and the staff is always friendly. Clean dining room and bathrooms. Top notch choice for great food. No too many places around that can deliver this level of service consistently.
Nothing special. Order the half chicken with green beans and baked potato. Chicken was sort of dry but had good flavor. The green beans tasted like they came out of a can. And a baked potato is a baked potato can’t really mess that up unless you’re at Wendy’s. Overall, the food was fine

Grilled chicken, without dragging out the grill, YUM. It was done to perfection. For early on a Sunday morning, they were waiting for us for me. I was waiting on efficiently and the food was ready to go. Even a baked potato was cooked nice and soft and moist.
Ordered the steak kabob medium rare. The steak was well done and it was just steak on a stick (no vegetables). I had this in the past and it was good, this time I was disappointed.
Chicken crispy and completely cooked . Juicy and delicious. Sides of baked beans were sweet and tangy.
It’s insane that the human mind is capable of putting together food as good as this.
