Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor

I expected this place to be overrated but it was every bit worth the trip to forest park!! Loved the old school midwestern ice creamery feel, but more importantly the ice cream was delicious and so creamy! The coconut tasted like actual coconut! It is on the pricier side but the scoops are huge!! You can also get a half and half option if you want to try two flavors. The only thing I don't really like is the set up of the register and ordering system. It feels like they would benefit from multiple registers because the line is really long but they do keep it moving quick and you get the ice cream almost right after you order which keeps it from melting. After dinner, we walked down Madison Street and happened upon the Brown Cow. The ice cream parlor is in an old theater (known as the ‘Lil Theatre) you can see the footprint of the ticket booth in front of the entrance and the projector room windows in the main room. There is a large room in the back for parties and events. The star, of course, is the handmade ice cream. We had the Salted Carmel Spanish Peanut single scoop and the Banana Cream Pie single scoop (my favorite of the two). I also must mention the staff who were friendly and accommodating. We added a chocolate chip cookie, which was amazing! You can tell they baked these themselves today!

First time back in a while and disappointed. First, let me say I'm really glad Brown Cow exists. It's always been a good part of the community and has done a good job hiring and training courteous, friendly employees. I took my family last night for the first time in ages and was disappointed by the ice cream. Two of us ordered the Coconut brownie fudge. While the coconut flavor was decent, each of us only had one tiny chunk of brownie and that's it. It was basically coconut ice cream. And all of us were given scoops that were tiny unfortunately. I'm hoping this was just bad luck, we'll try again sometime.

Handmade ice tastes better divided. The boarding order is effective due to COVid-19. Do not change much besides only pots are available. I really wanted an ice cream sandwich, but at the time of my visit they are doing only pots. You have a contactless payment system that hits or measures No Cash. There are no outdoor or bench seats, so prepare to enjoy in your car, walk to Madison or at home.

Great ice cream— I love the chocolate malt. One thing though...last time i went I was unable drink my malt using one of those paper straws. Not only could i not suck anything up through the straw, the straw became soggy and collapsed after approximately two minutes of use. So I just had to eat it with a spoon. Maybe you guys could consider other plastic straw alternatives. Thanks!

The Brown Cow is ice cream perfection. Not only does the atmosphere scream ice cream parlor, so does the music. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. There is always something for vegan friends as well. Always a fun time for everyone!

Tonight my prenatal fitness class decided to meet up after class for ice cream Loved the cinnamon ice cream blackberry cheesecake ice cream, and some of the others praised the sea salt chocolate potato chip flavor!

This place is so brilliant, you make yourself a service NOT going! There are shakes, bowls, cakes, sundaes... the list goes on. In short, do not skip, order RUN!
