Having made a booking via OpenTable and receiving a confirmation email, 24 hours later had a phone call from Browns to say they could offer me a table at 5pm or 9pm but not at 7pm which was the time of my booking. No apologies just that the way it is. OpenTable just blamed Browns and said I could always phone the restaurant to confirm a booking, not seeing the ridiculousness of that suggestion as it renders their platform to irrelevance. So I am giving an all round one star, but to be clear we did not eat there.
Love eating in Brown’s and I couldn’t fault the service. However I chose the lobster risotto which I have had previously in Brown’s Covent Garden. However the lobster that accompanies the risotto was so tough and overcooked it was almost inedible. A shame as this is one of my favourite restaurants
I have been to many Browns restaurants over the years, particularly in London. Generally, you know what to expect from the menu. However, I have to say that my recent experience was disappointing. A 3-star rating is being generous.
We had a wonderful experience at Browns. We were accompanied by two locals and enjoyed a surprise birthday celebration. Our waiter was very friendly and provided us with some great recommendations...

We arrived in Brighton for a concert and had just over an hour to kill before the show so decided to grab a quick bite to eat at Brown's.
Having been to a
Browns on this street appears to have two sections. We also visited a wine bar, which informed us they were closing at 8:45 pm.
Browns Bar and Brasserie is a bit of an oddity, a bar-cum-restaurant perched in the main Lanes district.
I came here on the Christmas menu and pre ordered in advance in November with a helpful lady on email.

Very expensive, small portions, very noisy, felt rushed. Would not recommend.
